Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui, (1) pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning terhadap Kemandirian Belajar Matematika Siswa Kelas VIII SMP, (2) pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning terhadap Hasil Belajar Matematika Siswa Kelas VIII SMP, (3) pengaruh kemandirian belajar terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu penelitian eksperimen dengan desain penelitian quasi-experiment: non-equivalent control group design. Teknik analisis data menggunakan anova satu jalur. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa SMP kelas VIII berjumlah 192 siswa, yang terdiri dari kelas eksperimen 96 siswa dan kelas kontrol 96 siswa.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, (1) terdapat pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dan konvensional terhadap kemandirian belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP, (2) terdapat pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP, dan (3) terdapat pengaruh positif kemandirian belajar terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP.
Siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning menunjukkan kemandirian belajar yang lebih baik daripada siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Pada proses pembelajaran Problem Based Learning, siswa memecahkan masalah secara mandiri walau bekerja di dalam kelompok. Demikian juga dengan hasil belajar, dimana siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning memperoleh hasil belajar yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Problem Based Learning menekankan pada pemahaman konseptual dan mahir dalam pengorganisasian materi pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemandirian siswa mempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa, dimana siswa dengan kemandirian yang tinggi memperoleh hasil belajar yang lebih baik dibandingkan yang rendah.

This study aims to determine, (1) the effect of the use of the Problem Based Learning learning model on the Mathematics Learning Independence of Class VIII Middle School Students, (2) the influence of the use of the Problem Based Learning learning model on the Mathematics Learning Outcomes of the Class VIII Middle School Students, (3) the effect of learning independence on the mathematics learning outcomes of eighth grade students of junior high school. The research method used in the study is experimental research with a quasi-experimental research design: non-equivalent control group design. The data analysis technique uses one-way ANOVA. The subjects of the study were 192th grade junior high school students totaling 192 students, consisting of 96 experimental class students and 96 control class students.
The results showed that, (1) there was an influence of the use of the Problem Based Learning and conventional learning models on the mathematics learning independence of the eighth grade students of SMP, (2) there was an influence on the use of the Problem Based Learning learning model on the mathematics learning outcomes of the VIII SMP grade students, and (3 ) there is a positive influence of learning independence on mathematics learning outcomes of students of class VIII SMP.
Students who are taught with the Problem Based Learning model show better learning independence than students who are taught with conventional learning. In the Problem Based Learning process, students solve problems independently even when working in groups. Likewise, learning outcomes, where students who are taught with the Problem Based Learning learning model get better learning outcomes compared to conventional learning. Problem Based Learning emphasizes conceptual and proficient understanding in organizing learning materials. The results showed that student independence affects student learning outcomes, where students with high independence get better learning outcomes than low ones.
