ABSTRAK
Pembelajaran yang ideal sepatutnya memuat proses interaksi guru dan siswa, memotivasi, menyenangkan sehingga menghasilkan pemahaman yang sesuai. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya penggunaan media dalam proses pembelajaran di sekolah. Penggunaan media dapat menunjang tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran. Siswa tidak hanya belajar pada buku teks, lks, modul, dan sejenisnya. Dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia, media tunnel book tergolong sebagai media yang masih baru. Dengan menggunakan media tunnel book siswa dapat mengidentifikasi jalan cerita yang disajikan dalam bentuk gambar yang konkret. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh deskripsi tentang (1) proses pengembangan media tunnel book untuk pembelajaran mengidentifikasi teks narasi pada siswa kelas VII di SMP dan, (2) kualitas media tunnel book yang terdiri atas kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan untuk pembelajaran mengidentifikasi teks narasi siswa kelas VII di SMP.
Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan pengembangan media oleh Sadiman dengan metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Langkah-langkah dalam pengembangan media tunnel book terdiri atas 1) Mengidentifikasi kebutuhan dan karakteristik siswa, 2) Merumuskan tujuan, 3) Merumuskan butir-butir materi, 4) Merumuskan alat pengukur keberhasilan, 5) Menulis naskah media, 6) Melakukan tes atau uji coba, 7) Melakukan Revisi, dan 8) Naskah siap diproduksi. Penelitian ini menghasilkan produk media berbentuk tiga dimensi yakni media pembelajaran tunnel book. Subjek dan data penelitian ini ialah siswa kelas VII-A dan VII-C di SMPN 2 Gresik. Data penelitian ini meliputi proses pengembangan, kevalidan media buku terowongan (tunnel book) oleh ahli validator, kepraktisan terdiri atas hasil tes siswa, aktivitas guru dan siswa, dan keefektifan diketahui berdasarkan respons siswa.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kevalidan media buku terowongan (tunnel book) mendapatkan kriteria “Sangat Layak” dengan persentase 90% diperoleh berdasarkan hasil rekapitulasi penilaian validator ahli media, materi dan bahasa. Kepraktisan media buku terowongan (tunnel book) berdasarkan angket respons siswa terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan media buku terowongan (tunnel book) memiliki persentase 88,17% hal ini termasuk ke dalam kategori “Sangat Praktis”. Sedangkan keefektifan media dapat diketahui melalui tes hasil belajar siswa, hasil pengamatan guru dan siswa yang dikategorikan “Sangat Baik”. Hasil belajar siswa menunjukkan rata-rata 86,53, aktivitas guru menunjukkan persentase 90,52% dan aktivitas siswa menunjukkan persentase 90,90%. Berdasarkan aspek kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan media, kualitas media tunnel book dapat dikategorikan “Sangat Berkualitas” dengan persentase 88,84%. Media buku terowongan (tunnel book) memenuhi kriteria untuk diterapkan dalam proses pembelajaran mengidentifikasi teks narasi.

ABSTRACT
Ideal learning should contain the process of teacher and student interaction, motivating, fun with the result as to produce an appropriate understanding. This research is motivated by the importance of the use of media in the learning process in schools. The use of media can support the achievement of learning objectives. Students not only learn in textbooks, worksheets, modules, and the other media. In learning Indonesian subject, the tunnel book media is classified as a new medium. By using a tunnel book media students can identify the storyline presented in the form of concrete images. The purpose of this study was to obtain a description of (1) the process of developing a tunnel book media for learning to identify narrative text in grade VII students in junior high school and, (2) the quality of the tunnel book media consisting of validity, practicality, and effectiveness for learning to identify narrative text Grade VII students in junior high school.
This research uses the design of media development by Sadiman with quantitative descriptive research methods. The steps in developing a tunnel book media consist of 1) Identifying students' needs and characteristics, 2) Formulating objectives, 3) Formulating material points, 4) Forming a measure of success, 5) Writing media scripts, 6) Conducting tests or tests try, 7) Make revisions, and 8) Manuscripts are ready to be produced. This research resulted in three-dimensional shaped media products namely tunnel book learning media. The subject and data of this study were students in grades VII-A and VII-C at SMPN 2 Gresik. This research data includes the development process, the validity of the media tunnel book by a validator, the practicality of student test results, teacher and student activities, and effectiveness known based on student responses.
Based on the results of the study, the validity of the media tunnel book gets the criteria "Very Eligible" with a percentage of 90% obtained based on the recapitulation of the validator assessment of media, material and language experts. The practicality of tunnel book media are based on questionnaire responses toward the learning by using tunnel book media has a percentage of 88.17% which is included in the "Very Practical" category. While the effectiveness of the tunnel book media can be known through the test of student learning outcomes, observations of teachers and students who are categorized as "Very Good". Student learning outcomes show an average of 86.53, teacher activity shows a percentage of 90.52% and student activity shows a percentage of 90.90%. Based on the validity, practicality, and effectiveness aspects of the media, the quality of the tunnel book media can be categorized as “Very High Quality” with a percentage of 88,84%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the tunnel book media are eligible for the criteria to be used in the learning process of identifying narrative text.
