Keywords:
Learning Model, Work Based Learning, Blended Learning, Critical Thinking,
Caring, Medical Surgical Nursing.
Along
with the development of increasingly sophisticated science and technology,
health problems are also increasingly complex therefore the nursing is also
required to be able to provide more professional services. The ability to think
critically and caring is part of the competence that nurses must master in
providing professional nursing services. One of learning
model s that can be used to improve these two
abilities is the Work-Based Learning model with the Blended Learning Approach
(WBL-BL). The purpose of this study is to produce a Work-Based Learning model
with a Blended Learning approach which
is seen in terms of the feasibility, the practicality and
the effectiveness of the WBL-BL model in medical surgical nursing subject.
This
research is a research R&D (Research and Development). It used the development
design Dick et al. which consists of 10 steps,. The trial subjects were 40 students in the medical
surgical nursing course. The data were analysed used the Paired t test with a
significance level of 0.05.
The results showed (1) the feasibility of the learning model (WBL-BL) is very good, (2) the practicality of the learning
model is very good, (3) This
learning is effective in improving critical thinking and caring skills . There is a difference between critical thinking skills and caring
before and after WBL-BL learning. Therefore, this learning can be used in
improving critical thinking and caring skills
