Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang dilakukan penulis di kelas X TKR 1 SMK Negeri 3 Jombang diperoleh hasil bahwa keaktifan siswa rendah dan hasil belajar kurang memuaskan. Solusi dari permasalahan tersebut yaitu perlu diterapkannya inovasi model pembelajaran agar permasalahan tersebut dapat terselesaikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran kelas X TKR 1 di SMK Negeri 3 Jombang pada mata pelajaran Pekerjaan Dasar Teknik Otomotif (PDTO) dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make A Match.

Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan alur penelitian dari Kemmis dan Mc Taggart yaitu plan (perencanaan), act (tindakan), observe (pengamatan), dan reflect (refleksi).  Variabel yang diteliti yaitu keaktifan siswa dan hasil belajar siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data untuk mencari keaktifan siswa dengan mengggunakan lembar angket dan lembar pedoman observasi, sedangkan untuk hasil belajar berupa tes yang memilki 3 aspek yaitu aspek afektif, kognitif, dan psikomotor. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X TKR 1 di SMK Negeri 3 Jombang dengan jumlah 34 siswa. Pelaksanaan penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus dengan materi merawat bearing, seal gasket dan hoses. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dapat mengetahui ketercapaian dari target penelitian yang diinginkan. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data penelitian deskriptif yaitu dengan hasil kualitatif dan kuantitatif.

Hasil yang dicapai dari penelitian ini adalah: keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran make a match terlaksana sesuai dengan langkah-langkah pembelajaran pada RPP, penerapan model make a match dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa pada mata pelajaran pekerjaan dasar teknik otomotif kompetensi dasar memelihara seal, gasket, bearing dan hoses dan penerapan model make a match dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran pekerjaan dasar teknik otomotif kompetensi dasar memelihara seal, gasket, bearing dan hoses. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model make a match dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa sehingga hasil belajar siswa kelas X TKR 1 di SMK Negeri 3 Jombang juga mengalami peningkatan di atas nilai kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM).

Based on the results of observations made by the author in class X TKR 1 of SMK Negeri 3 Jombang, the results showed that student liveliness was low and learning outcomes were less satisfactory. The solution to these problems is the need to implement learning model innovations so that these problems can be resolved. This study aims to improve the learning quality of the TKR class X in SMK Negeri 3 Jombang on the subject of Automotive Engineering Basic Work (PDTO) by applying the Make A Match type cooperative learning model.

The method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the flow of research from Kemmis and Mc Taggart namely plan (planning), act (action), observe (observation), and reflect (reflection). The variables studied were student liveliness and student learning outcomes. Data collection techniques to find student liveliness by using questionnaire sheets and observation guideline sheets, while for learning outcomes in the form of tests that have three aspects, namely affective, cognitive, and psychomotor aspects. The subjects of this study were students in class X TKR 1 in SMK Negeri 3 Jombang with a total of 34 students. The research was conducted in two cycles with the material caring for bearings, gasket seals and hoses. Data collection carried out can determine the achievement of the desired research target. The data analysis method used is descriptive research data analysis that is with qualitative and quantitative results.

The results of this study are: the implementation of the make a match learning model is carried out in accordance with the learning steps in the RPP, the application of the make a match model can increase student liveliness in the basic subjects of automotive engineering basic competencies in maintaining seals, gaskets, bearings and hoses and the application of the make a match model can improve student learning outcomes in the basic subjects of automotive engineering basic competencies in maintaining seals, gaskets, bearings and hoses. Thus it can be concluded that the application of the make a match model can increase student liveliness so that the learning outcomes of students in class X TKR 1 at SMK Negeri 3 Jombang also increase above the minimum completeness criteria (KKM).
