Based
on the results of observations made by the author in class X TKR 1 of SMK
Negeri 3 Jombang, the results showed that student liveliness was low and
learning outcomes were less satisfactory. The solution to these problems is the
need to implement learning model innovations so that these problems can be
resolved. This study aims to improve the learning quality of the TKR class X in
SMK Negeri 3 Jombang on the subject of Automotive Engineering Basic Work (PDTO)
by applying the Make A Match type cooperative learning model.
The
method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the flow of
research from Kemmis and Mc Taggart namely plan (planning), act (action),
observe (observation), and reflect (reflection). The variables studied were
student liveliness and student learning outcomes. Data collection techniques to
find student liveliness by using questionnaire sheets and observation guideline
sheets, while for learning outcomes in the form of tests that have three
aspects, namely affective, cognitive, and psychomotor aspects. The subjects of
this study were students in class X TKR 1 in SMK Negeri 3 Jombang with a total
of 34 students. The research was conducted in two cycles with the material
caring for bearings, gasket seals and hoses. Data collection carried out can
determine the achievement of the desired research target. The data analysis
method used is descriptive research data analysis that is with qualitative and
quantitative results.
The
results of this study are: the implementation of the make a match learning
model is carried out in accordance with the learning steps in the RPP, the
application of the make a match model can increase student liveliness in the
basic subjects of automotive engineering basic competencies in maintaining
seals, gaskets, bearings and hoses and the application of the make a match
model can improve student learning outcomes in the basic subjects of automotive
engineering basic competencies in maintaining seals, gaskets, bearings and
hoses. Thus it can be concluded that the application of the make a match model
can increase student liveliness so that the learning outcomes of students in
class X TKR 1 at SMK Negeri 3 Jombang also increase above the minimum
completeness criteria (KKM).
