VISUALIZATION OF THE CHARACTER "MELLER" IN THE MONOLOGY "PIDATO" BY PUTU FAJAR ARCANA AT THE 2023 AP2SENI FESTIVAL AT PADANG STATE UNIVERSITY

Laporan ini mendeskripsikan secara mendalam Visualisasi Tokoh “Meller” Dalam Monolog “Pidato” Karya Putu Fajar Arcana Pada Ajang Festival AP2SENI Tahun 2023 Di Universitas Negeri Padang. Fokus utama pembahasan terletak pada tahapan-tahapan pembentukan karakter tokoh utama yang memiliki muatan kritik sosial-politik terhadap kondisi kekuasaan, manipulasi publik, dan peran media dalam membentuk opini masyarakat. Proses keaktoran dilakukan melalui pendekatan Stanislavski, yang menekankan pada pendalaman emosi, tujuan aksi, dan kejujuran dalam bertindak. Teknik-teknik seperti emotional memory, inner action, tempo-rhythm, dan circle of attention diterapkan dalam eksplorasi peran. Penulis juga mengintegrasikan observasi terhadap fenomena pidato-pidato politik di kehidupan nyata untuk memperkuat interpretasi karakter secara kontekstual.

Laporan ini menggunakan metode deskripsi proses hingga visualisasi, untuk memerankan tokoh Meller dengan menggunakan teknik keaktoran Stanislavski. Mulai dari proses latihan hingga pementasan, seperti  pemilihan naskah, membuat konsep garap, diskusi dengan sutradra, pelatihan dasar keaktoran, pendalaman karakter, konsultasi dengan pembimbing serta dokumentasi pertunjukan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman terhadap latar belakang sosial tokoh, serta kemampuan aktor dalam mengolah vokal, tubuh, dan ekspresi secara konsisten, menjadi faktor utama keberhasilan pementasan. Tantangan yang dihadapi aktor dalam membawa naskah yang sarat narasi internal dan minim interaksi juga dibahas sebagai bagian dari strategi pencapaian intensitas dramatik. Laporan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran konkret kepada seluruh kalangan, dalam proses visualisasi tokoh, dengan penerapan teori keaktoran Stanislavski sehingga berhasil dalam praktik monolog yang kompleks secara isi dan emosional.

This report provides an in-depth description of the visualization of the character "Meller" in Putu Fajar Arcana's monologue "Pidato" at the 2023 AP2SENI Festival at Padang State University. The main focus of the discussion is on the stages of character formation of the main character, which contains socio-political criticism of the conditions of power, public manipulation, and the role of the media in shaping public opinion. The acting process is carried out using the Stanislavski approach, which emphasizes deepening emotions, the purpose of action, and honesty in acting. Techniques such as emotional memory, inner action, tempo-rhythm, and circle of attention are applied in the exploration of the role. The author also integrates observations of the phenomenon of political speeches in real life to strengthen the interpretation of the character contextually

This report uses a process description method to visualization, to play the character of Meller using Stanislavski's acting techniques. Starting from the rehearsal process to the performance, such as script selection, creating a working concept, discussions with the director, basic acting training, character development, consultation with the supervisor and documentation of the performance. The results of the analysis show that understanding the character's social background, as well as the actor's ability to consistently process vocals, body, and expressions, are the main factors for the success of the performance. The challenges faced by actors in carrying out a script that is full of internal narratives and minimal interaction are also discussed as part of the strategy to achieve dramatic intensity. This report is expected to provide a concrete picture to all groups, in the process of character visualization, by applying Stanislavski's acting theory so that it is successful in the practice of complex monologues in terms of content and emotion
