Learning Japanese in formal
institutions is only limited to books. Japanese Literature is poorly taught.
Learning is also carried out using simple and less varied media, which causes
students to find it difficult to learn Japanese. One of the difficulties is
learning Japanese vocabulary. In this research, developed a flannelgraph,
especially for vocabulary practice. A flannel graph is a picture or text on a
flannel board.
The
purpose of this research was to describe the development of the media
flanelgraf .
This research was conducted at
SMKN 10 Surabaya, class XI UPW. The number of students involved in the limited
trial was 10 people and the field trial was 20 people.
This research uses a research
development by Borg and Gall. The media development process was carried out in
eight stages, namely research and information collecting, planning, develop
preliminary form of product, validation, main product revision, main field
testing, operational product revision, operational field testing. Media testing
is divided into three, namely validation, main field testing, and operational
field testing of the media. Media validation consists of material content
validation and media construction validation. Media experts assess 74% of media
construction. Material experts gave an assessment of 81.05%. In the operational
field testing of student response questionnaire, students gave an assessment of
the use of media by 84%. The
results of the assessment show that the media flanelgraf is good for used to
practice vocabulary and introduce Japanese children's songs.
