PROSES BERPIKIR KREATIF PESERTA DIDIK SMP DALAM MENYELESAIKAN MASALAH OPEN ENDED SEGIEMPAT DITINJAU BERDASARKAN GAYA KOGNITIF

Proses berpikir kreatif merupakan tahapan-tahapan yang dilalui saat berpikir kreatif. Tahapan yang dilakukan meliputi tahap persiapan, tahap inkubasi, tahap ilmunisasi, dan tahap verifikasi. Sementara itu, adanya perbedaan gaya kognitif peserta didik, memungkinkan terjadinya perbedaan proses berpikir kreatif dalam menyelesaikan masalah open ended. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses berpikir kreatif peserta didik SMP dalam menyelesaikan masalah open ended segiempat ditinjau berdasarkan gaya kognitif field dependent dan field independent.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik field independent dalam tahap persiapan, membaca soal dua kali dalam memahami masalah, dapat menjelaskan apa yang diketahui dan ditanyakan tanpa melihat soal, dan mulai membangun ide dengan membuat coret-coretan. Sedangkan peserta didik field dependent, membaca soal empat kali dalam memahami masalah, menjelaskan apa yang diketahui dan ditanyakan dengan melihat soal, dan mulai membangun ide dengan membuat coret-coretan. Pada tahap inkubasi peserta didik field independent dan field dependent memikirkan hal lain yang tidak ada hubungannya dengan masalah. Pada tahap iluminasi peserta didik field independent, dapat menghasilkan dua cara lain dalam mencari luas bagian-bagian taman, dan mampu membuat empat rancangan yang beda-beda. Sedangkan peserta didik field dependent, dapat menghasilkan satu cara lain dalam mencari luas bagian-bagian taman dan mampu mambuat dua rancangan yang berbeda-beda. Pada tahap verifikasi peserta didik field independent mengecek pekerjaannya dua kali sendangkan peserta didik field dependent hanya satu kali pengecekan.

THE CREATIVE THINKING PROCESS OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN SOLVING PROBLEM OF RECTANGULAR OPEN ENDED REVIEWED BASED ON COGNITIVE STYLE

The creative thinking process is a stage that passed through while thinking creative. That the stages consist of preparation stage, incubation stage, ilmunization stage , and verification stage. Meanwhile, the difference in each students’ cognitive style allows to the difference in the creative thinking process of rectangular open ended problem solving. The purpose of this study is to describe the creative thinking process of junior high school students in solving problem of rectangular open ended reviewed based on field dependent cognitive style and field independent cognitive style.
This research is a qualitative descriptive which conducted in 8th grade SMP Negeri 32 Surabaya 2018/2019. The subject of this research consist of one student with field dependent cognitive style and one student with field independent cognitive style. The other criteria of the subject are having an equivalent mathematics skills, same gender, and great ability communication. The research instruments consist of GEFT, mathematics skills test, rectangular open ended problem solving task, and interview guideline.
This result of the research is to show that field independent students in preparation stage, read the question twice to understand the problem, can explain what they know, ask without look the questions, and start building ideas with make a scribble. While a feild dependent, read the question four times to understand the problem, can explain what they know, asked with look the questions, and start building ideas with make a scribble. In incubation stage, field independent student and field dependent studentsthink of something else that have nothing to do with the problem.In illumination stage, field independent students, can produce two other ways to find a part of garden area, and afford to make four design varies. While field dependent student, can produce one another way to find a part of garden area, and afford to make two design varies. In verification stage, field independent student double checks the work while field dependent only once check the work.
