The purpose of the research is to describe how the
Cooperative Model type Teams Games Tournament (TGT) on Ecology and Biodiversity
Indonesia materials was implemented to enhance students’ cognitive learning
outcomes. It also aims to describe students’ responses to the TGT.
Pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design is the method of
analysis. This research sample was dents of VII-B class in SMP Islam Brawijaya
Mojokerto, Indonesia. Observation, testing, and questionnaires are all methods of
gathering data. The research tool comprises observation sheets for learning
implementation, pretest-posttest sheets, and questionnaires for student
responses. The implementation of learning with the application of the TGT
Cooperative Model in ecology and biodiversity Indonesian materials is very
good. Students’ cognitive learning outcomes with the application of the TGT
Cooperative Model in ecology and biodiversity Indonesian materials have
improved. This can be seen from the results of N-gain and test-t. As for the
N-gain test result obtained a value of 0,42 indicated an increase in the medium
category. Acquisition of sig. pre-test 0,056 and sig. post-test 0,144 >
0,05, the data is normally distributed. The paired t-test result indicated
cognitive learning before and after the TGT cooperative model was put into
place. Students responded very positively to the use of the TGT-type
cooperative model in ecology and biodiversity Indonesian materials with an
average percentage of student responses of 87%. Based on the result, it can be
concluded that the TGT cooperative model implementation improved junior high
school students’ cognitive learning outcomes on Ecology and Biodiversity
Indonesian materials.
