Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh model pembelajaran induktif terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan pemecahan masalah siswa kelas IX pada mata pelajaran IPA di SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surabaya. Pendekatan kuantitatif eksperimen digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 30 siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan 30 siswa pada kelas kontrol Selanjutnya kedua kelompok tersebut diberi pretest dan posttest pada awal dan akhir pembelajaran.

Hasil uji hipotesis pertama dengan menggunakan uji-t ditemukan bahwa pengaruh model pembelajaran induktif terhadap berpikir kritis dihasilkan perbedaan rata- rata pada kelas kontrol lebih rendah yaitu dengan nilai 63,17 dibandingkan dengan nilai rata – rata kelas eksperimen sebesar 84.33. Hasil uji hipotesis kedua ditemukan pengaruh model pembelajaran induktif terhadap pemecahan masalah dihasilkan perbedaan nilai rata- rata pada kelas kontrol lebih rendah yaitu dengan nilai 63,67 dibandingkan dengan nilai rata – rata kelas eksperimen sebesar 83, 83. Kesimpulannya, penerapan model pembelajaran induktif berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan pemecahan masalah siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA.

This research aims to examine the effect of the inductive learning model on the critical thinking and problem solving abilities of class IX students in science subjects at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surabaya. A quantitative experimental approach was used in this research. The research subjects were 30 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class. Next, both groups were given a pretest and posttest at the beginning and end of the lesson.

The results of the first hypothesis test using the t-test found that the effect of the inductive learning model on critical thinking resulted in a lower average difference in the control class, namely with a value of 63.17 compared to the average value of the experimental class of 84.33. The results of the second hypothesis test found that the effect of the inductive learning model on problem solving resulted in a lower difference in the average value in the control class, namely with a value of 63.67 compared to the average value of the experimental class of 83.83. In conclusion, the application of the inductive learning model influences students' critical thinking and problem solving abilities in science learning.
