Abstract
This study uses data in the form of status and memes that
are one-way. The data was obtained during the 2020 regional head election
(pilkada) during the covid-19 pandemic on social media facebook. This social media is
used by the author freely to express opinions regarding the 2020 regional
elections. However, this freedom can potentially lead to cyber crime. Because
the use of the author's language can mean demeaning a person or group of
people. The use of discourse elements to form a complete meaning in status and
memes.The existence of this phenomenon, this research was conducted to describe
the elements of the setting and scene, the elements of the instruments, the
elements of the ends, the elements of the act of sequence, the status and memes
on Facebook leading to regional head elections (pilkada) 2020. This research is
a qualitative descriptive study. Sources of data from this study are status and
memes containing writings and pictures of regional head candidates, regional
elections, and government. Data were collected using documentation techniques,
note taking techniques, and library techniques. The data analysis technique
used in this research is the technique of description and content analysis as
well as the method of agih. The results of this study are (1) elements of the
setting and scene which are divided into three, namely time background, place
setting, and atmosphere background, (2) elements of the instrument, as a whole
using the medium of writing and use of Indonesian, Indonesian with Javanese,
Indonesian. in English, and Indonesian with Javanese and English, (3) elements of
the ends found were divided into 5, namely support for regional head
candidates, not supporting regional head candidates, not supporting the
implementation of the 2020 regional elections, insulting political parties, and
insult to the government, (4) elements of the act of sequence that were found
were divided into 5, namely support, criticism, insult, harassment, and
hostility.
