The Graphical Progress in Cursive Handwriting of Second Grade Students
This study aims to analyze the graphic form of second grade students’ cursive handwriting. To achieve this goal, researchers used the children's handwriting as research data. Each graphic form of the student's handwriting in the form of certain letters, neatness and legibility of the handwriting was used as a source of data to be identified, analyzed and described. The results of this study are detailed in the form of a student's handwritten description that is described based on the size of the letters, which is adjusted to the virtual line boundaries of the written lines; the slope of the letters, which is obtained from the tendency of the writing direction and the shape of the letters, which is based on the reference for writing continuous letters. Based on the descriptions of the results of the researchers' observations of thirty student handwriting produced by fifteen female students and fifteen male students, it is known that a stable upright writing habit has been formed for the majority of students. The role of supervising teachers and parents in the process of developing cursive writing skills is very important.
