Telah banyak peningkatan atensi pada langkah retoris di artikel-artikel penelitian. Penelitian-penelitian antar disiplin ilmu telah dilakukan untuk menginvestigasi kelayakan dan kelengkapan langkah retoris yang ada pada pendahuluan artikel penelitian dikarenakan pentingnya fungsi dari pendahulian. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, kesadaran akan pola penulisan pada artikel perlu di tekankan karena dapat mempengaruhi kelayakan artikel tersebut di kancah forum resmi. Oleh karena itu, penelitain ini dilakukan untuk menemukan langkah retoris pada pendahuluan dan bagaimana penulis mengurutkan pola dari artikel penelitian sastra yang diambil dari jurnal terindeks SINTA 1 sampai SINTA 6 menggunakan CARs model dan model adaptasi dari Swales.

Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik dokumen analisis. Terdapat 22 artikel sastra dari jurnal terindeks SINTA 1-6 yang diambil sebagai sumber data. Setiap SINTA, peneliti memilih masing-masing dua artikel dari dua jurnal yang berbeda untuk memastikan validitas dan reliabilitas dari penelitian ini..

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kurang dari separuh artikel yang diteliti memiliki langkah retoris yang lengkap sesuai teori Swales. Dari 22 arikel, hanya 7 artikel menunjukkan kelengkapan langkah retoris pada pendahuluan. Selain itu, tidak ada satu pun artikel yang memiliki kelengkapan langkah retoris mikro. Bahkan, langkah retoris wajib tidak ditemukan di beberapa artikel, terutama langkah ke-dua yaitu establishing a niche. Namun demikian, dari banyak  artikel yang diteliti, cara penulis artikel-artikel tersebut menyusun dan mengatur pola yang dikembangkan menjadi poin-poin pada pendahuluan cukup urut, sesuai dengan kerangka teoritis. Hanya satu dari artikel-artikel tersebut tidak menunjukan pola langkah yang urut, sebagai contoh langkah ke-3 diletakkan pada awal pendahuluan. Menariknya, dari hasil penelitian ini, ditunjukkan bahwa level pengindeksan jurnal tidak berbanding lurus dengan level kualitas setiap artikelnya. Hal ini terjadi karena pada dasarnya tidak ada keseragaman langkah retoris dan pola pada setiap penulis, karena mereka memiliki identitas kepenulisan masing-masing

There has been a growing interest in the rhetorical move structure of research articles. Research studies across disciplines have been done to investigate similarity or dissimilarity in the research article introduction due to its crucial role. Regarding the issue abovem, the awarness of the organizatin patterns of the paper need to be considered because it brings an effect to the respectable forum whether the paper is acceptable or not. Therefore, this study aims at finding the rhetorical moves as well as the sequencing pattern of literary journal articles from SINTA 1 to SINTA 6 accredited indexing using the CARs and adapted model of Swales.

This study was done using qualitative method with document analysis technique. 22 literary journal articles from SINTA 1-6 indexed journal were taken as the source of data. Each SINTA, the researcher chose 2 articles from 2 different journals to ensure the validity and reliability of the study.

The findings of this study revealed that only less than a half of the articles contain all of the moves suggested by Swale. It was found that out of 22 articles, only 7 articles had complete moves. Besides, none of the articles showed complete micro moves in the introduction. Even, some of the moves were also missing from several articles especially the 2^nd  move, which is establishing a niche. Despite the incompleteness of the moves, most of the articles analyzed, the way authors sequencing of points elaborated from those moves indicate proper structure in which the moves are placed according to the theoretical framework. Only two of the articles did not follow the sequential orders as the third move is displaced in the beginning of introduction. Interestingly, the standardized level of indexing in a journal does not determine the quality of the research paper’s introduction. This is probably because there is no uniformity in the world of rhetorical patterns in writing since each writer or author has their own style.
