IMPROVING THE ABILITY TO RECOGNIZE COLOR THROUGH THE COLOR COTTON BUD GAME IN GRADE B STUDENTS AT PPT MENTARI LIDAH WETAN SURABAYA
Kemampuan mengenal warna merupakan komponen penting dalam perkembangan kognitif anak usia dini, membantu meningkatkan daya pikir serta memori otak mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan mengenal warna pada siswa kelas B di PPT Mentari Lidah Wetan Surabaya, melalui permainan "Colour Cotton Bud". Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) deskriptif kuantitatif dengan model John Eliot, terdiri dari dua siklus dengan tahapan perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan mengenal warna siswa usia 3-4 tahun. Pada pra-siklus, kemampuan mereka mencapai 14,05%, kemudian meningkat menjadi 54,37% pada siklus I dan 82,47% pada siklus II. Perubahan ini menunjukkan efektivitas dalam mendukung perkembangan anak sesuai tahap usia mereka. Penelitian ini memberikan solusi bagi lembaga pendidikan, guru, dan pendidik untuk menerapkan metode pembelajaran yang kreatif guna mendorong kemampuan kognitif anak usia dini. Temuan ini menjadi kontribusi berharga bagi pengembangan pendidikan anak usia dini yang dapat menjadi rujukan inovasi pendidikan yang berpengaruh positif.

The ability to recognize colors is an essential component in the cognitive development of early childhood, aiding in enhancing their thinking capacity and memory. This study aims to describe the improvement in color recognition ability among class B students at PPT Mentari Lidah Wetan Surabaya through the innovative "Colour Cotton Bud" game. The method. employed is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a descriptive quantitative approach, utilizing John Eliot's model, consisting of two cycles with the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results of the study indicate a significant improvement in the color recognition ability of students aged 3-4 years. In the pre-cycle stage, their ability was measured at 14.05%, which increased to 54.37% in the first cycle and 82.47% in the second cycle. This improvement demonstrates the effectiveness of the "Colour Cotton Bud" game in supporting the development of children in accordance with their age stages. This research offers solutions for educational institutions, teachers, and educators to implement creative learning methods to foster the cognitive abilities of early childhood. These findings represent a valuable contribution to the advancement of early childhood education, serving as a reference for impactful educational innovations.
