COMPACT DISC SEBAGAI BAHAN BERKARYA 2 DIMENSI DI SMA NEGERI 2 SIDOARJO

COMPACT DISC AS A MATERIAL 2-DIMENSIONAL WORKS IN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL 2 SIDOARJO

Di SMA Negeri 2 Sidoarjo, materi dan bahan dalam praktik berkarya seni 2 dimensi mata pelajaran seni budaya setiap tahunnya selalu sama dan tidak ada perkembangan. Selain itu, banyaknya compact disc tersedia akibat perilaku masyarakat yang beralih ke benda lebih praktis. Kedua hal tersebut menjadi tantangan guru untuk membuat alternatif baru baik materi seni maupun bahan berkarya tanpa keluar dari konsep kompetensi dasar kelas XI yang telah ditentukan. Salah satu bentuk inovasi baru 2 dimensi yaitu membuat karya dengan mengkombinasikan kolase dan mozaik dari compact disc bekas.

Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) Mendeskripsikan proses berkarya kombinasi kolase dan mozaik dengan memanfaatkan compact disc bekas, (2) Mendeskripsikan hasil karya peserta didik dalam berkarya kombinasi kolase dan mozaik dengan memanfaatkan compact disc bekas, (3) Mengetahui tanggapan guru seni budaya dan peserta didik terkait kelebihan dan kekurangan berkarya kombinasi kolase dan mozaik dari compact disc bekas.

Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif-deskriptif dengan subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Sidoarjo. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan untuk menganalisis data penelitian dilakukan dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, serta menarik kesimpulan, kemudian divalidasi dengan triangulasi.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peserta didik kelas XI telah melaksanakan pembelajaran praktik berkarya kombinasi kolase dan mozaik dari compact disc bekas dalam 3 kali pertemuan di luar jam sekolah sesuai prosedur dan arahan peneliti. Pada pertemuan pertama berisi (1)Pemberian materi, (2)Persiapan alat, bahan, dan media tempel, (3)Proses mengecat media tempel dengan phylox, (4)Mengolah compact disc bekas dengan direbus, (5)Menggambar desain dan Pemotongan compact disc. Kemudian pertemuan kedua berisi kegiatan penyusunan dan penempelan. Pada pertemuan ketiga berisi (1) Penyelesaian tahap menempel, (2) Finishing karya (3)Presentasi hasil karya. Dari 35 peserta didik kelas XI, diambil 10 orang secara acak, kemudian dibentuk menjadi 5 kelompok yang menghasilkan sebanyak 5 karya berukuran A3/12R (30cm x 40cm). Ke-5 karya dapat dikategorikan dengan hasil karya kelompok 4 (objek bunga teratai) dan 3 (objek kura-kura) termasuk sangat baik, sedangkan kelompok 5 (objek pohon), 2 (objek kupu-kupu), dan 1 (objek kuda laut) tergolong baik. Penentuan tersebut berdasarkan kriteria dan objek setiap kelompok yang berbeda. Dari awal proses hingga akhir berkarya sangat memuaskan, meskipun terdapat beberapa kendala. Kendala tersebut berkaitan dengan tanggapan tentang kekurangan dan kelebihan. Menurut guru kelebihannya yaitu menerapkan 2 teknik dalam satu karya dengan memanfaatkan compact disc bekas, sedangkan kekurangannya terlalu banyak proses. Berbeda halnya kelebihan dari sudut pandang peserta didik yaitu mengetahui cara mengolah compact disc, tidak perlu mewarnai dan eksplor karya lebih bebas karena konsep kombinasi. Kekurangannya peserta didik kesulitan dengan tahapan yang tidak sedikit. Dengan adanya keterlibatan dan tanggapan dari guru seni budaya maupun peserta didik dapat memberi kontribusi perkembangan, serta manfaat untuk menambah pengalaman baru dengan lebih bebas mengeksplor ide-ide dan bahan berkarya bagi sekolah maupun peneliti.

At SMA Negeri 2 Sidoarjo, the materials and materials in the practice of creating 2-dimensional art in cultural arts subjects every year are always the same and there is no development. In addition, there are many compact discs available due to the behavior of people who switch to more practical objects. Both of these things are a challenge for teachers to create new alternatives for both art materials and materials without getting out of the concept of the basic competencies of class XI that have been determined. One form of new 2-dimensional innovation is to create works by combining collage and mosaic from used compact discs.

This study aims (1) to describe the process of creating a combination of collage and mosaic by utilizing used compact discs, (2) to describe the work of students in creating a combination of collage and mosaic by utilizing used compact discs, (3) to know the responses of cultural arts teachers and students related to the advantages and disadvantages of creating a combination of collage and mosaic from used compact discs.

The method used is qualitative-descriptive with the research subject is class XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Sidoarjo. The data collection method is done by observation, interview, and documentation. While to analyze the research data is done by data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, then validated by triangulation.

The results showed that grade XI students had carried out practical learning of collage and mosaic combinations from used compact discs in 3 meetings outside of school hours according to procedures and directions of researchers. The first meeting contained (1) Providing material, (2) Preparation of tools, materials, and media paste, (3) The process of painting media paste with phylox, (4) Processing used compact discs by boiling, (5) Drawing designs and cutting compact discs. Then the second meeting contained drafting and pasting activities. The third meeting contained (1) Completion of the sticking stage, (2) Finishing the work (3) Presentation of the work. Of the 35 students in class XI, 10 people were taken randomly, then formed into 5 groups which produced 5 works of A3/12R size (30cm x 40cm). The 5 works can be categorized with the work of groups 4 (lotus flower object) and 3 (turtle object) including very good, while groups 5 (tree object), 2 (butterfly object), and 1 (seahorse object) are classified as good. The determination is based on the criteria and objects of each different group. From the beginning of the process to the end, the work was very satisfying, although there were some obstacles. These obstacles relate to responses about shortcomings and advantages. According to the teacher, the advantages are applying 2 techniques in one work by utilizing used compact discs, while the disadvantages are too many processes. In contrast, the advantages from the learners' point of view are knowing how to process compact discs, no need to color and explore the work more freely. The disadvantage is that students have difficulty with the steps that are not small. With the involvement and responses from cultural arts teachers and students can contribute to development, as well as the benefits of adding new experiences by more freely exploring ideas and creative materials for schools and researchers.
