Penerapan Goal-free Problems Dalam Pembelajaran Matematika Secara Kolaboratif Untuk Melatih Kemampuan Siswa Dalam Memecahkan Masalah

Application of Goal-free Problems in Collaborative Mathematics Learning to Train Students' Ability to Solve Problems

Pembelajaran matematika harus berlandaskan proses dimana siswa aktif mengkonstruksi pengetahuan mereka sendiri. Pembelajaran kolaboratif berorientasi pada teori kontruktivisme yang menekankan bahwa pembelajaran bukanlah proses penyerapan informasi semata, tetapi proses aktif yang melibatkan konstruksi pengetahuan oleh individu secara mandiri. Keterampilan pemecahan masalah sangat penting dalam pembelajaran matematika dan menjadi keterampilan yang harus dikuasai oleh siswa. Salah satu starategi yang dapat digunakan untuk melatih kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah adalah goal-free problems.

Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu guru matematika dan 29 siswa SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Taman tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Adapun rancangan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu one shot study case. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua kali pertemuan untuk penerapan goal-free problems dalam pembelajaran matematika secara kolaboratif dan satu kali pertemuan untuk tes kemampuan siswa dalam pemecahan masalah serta pengisian angket respon siswa. Selama penerapan pembelajaran tersebut diamati aktivitas siswa dan guru.

Hasil analisis data menunjukkan: (1) penerapan pembelajaran secara keseluruhan dapat dikategorikan sangat baik yang didukung dengan hasil lembar observasi dengan skor rata-rata 3,81; (2) aktivitas siswa secara keseluruhan dapat dikategorikan aktif yang didukung dengan lembar observasi dengan presentase rata-rata 89,88%; (3) Kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah tergolong baik dengan nilai presentase ketuntasan belajar klasikal sebesar 79,31%; dan (4) Penerapan pembelajaran dikatakan dapat meminimalkan extraneous cognitive load (beban kognitif ekstrinsik) siswa yang didukung dengan angket respon siswa yang mendapatkan respon positif.

Mathematics learning must be based on a process in which students actively construct their own knowledge. Collaborative learning is oriented towards constructivism theory, which emphasizes that learning is not a mere process of absorbing information but an active process involving the construction of knowledge by individuals independently. Problem-solving skills are very important in learning mathematics and become skills that must be mastered by students. One strategy that can be used to train students' ability to solve problems is goal-free problems.

The subjects in this study were a mathematics teacher and 29 students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Taman in the 2022/2023 academic year. The research design used is a one-shot study. This research was conducted in two meetings: one to apply goal-free problems in collaborative mathematics learning and one to test students' ability to solve problems and fill out student response questionnaires. During the application of the learning, observed the activities of students and teachers.

The results of the data analysis show: (1) the application of learning as a whole can be categorized as very good, which is supported by the results of the observation sheet with an average score of 3.81; (2) student activity as a whole can be categorized as active which is supported by observation sheets with an average percentage of 89.88%; (3) Students' ability to solve problems is classified as good with a classical learning mastery percentage of 79.31%.; and (4) the application of learning is said to be able to minimize students' extraneous cognitive load (extrinsic cognitive load) which is supported by student response questionnaires that get positive responses.
