Spatial ability is
a special ability related to imagining space, so that spatial ability affects
students' ability to understand and visualize images. Meanwhile,
think-pair-share is a strategy that emphasizes patterns of student interaction
in the classroom. This study aims to determine the effect of spatial ability of
students on learning outcomes material calculation of the estimated volume of
construction costs by applying the think-pair-share learning model. This
learning model is considered very effective for managing classes. So, from
learning outcomes by applying think pair share learning models will be
correlated / related to the results of students 'spatial intelligence tests to
find out whether students' insolvency is indeed interconnected with low spatial
intelligence, which ultimately affects student learning outcomes.
This research is a
quantitative descriptive research. Data analysis techniques used are
correlation and regression. Correlation is a study to determine the level of
relationship between two or more variables without any effort to influence
these variables so that there is no manipulation of variables. Meanwhile,
regression is a statistical method to test the extent of the causal
relationship between the causal variable (X) and the effect variable (Y). The
independent variable in this study is the value of students 'spatial
intelligence, while the dependent variable uses students' cognitive and
psychomotor values in the material to calculate the volume of building
construction work which has a percentage of 50% each. The hypothesis in this
study is the influence of students' spatial ability on learning outcomes
material calculation of the estimated construction cost volume by applying the
think-pair-share learning model. Analysis of the influence of students' spatial
ability on learning outcomes material calculation of the estimated construction
cost volume by applying a student think-pair-share learning model measured by
SPSS 22, using simple correlation and regression analysis.
Based on the
results of correlation analysis, it is found that there is a moderate
relationship between spatial ability and student learning outcomes in
calculating the volume of building construction work, namely the correlation
rate of 45.4% in class XII DPIB B and 47.1% in class XII DPIB C, so it can be
concluded Other factors that influence student learning outcomes, such as the
implementation of learning, the level of difficulty of test questions and
learning media (handouts). While the results of the spatial ability regression
analysis (X) on student learning outcomes calculate the volume of building
construction work (Y) in class XII DPIB B and C obtained a simple linear
regression equation Y = 0,734X – 22,467.
