KESADAHAN TOTAL PADA AIR TANAH DANGKAL DI DUSUN MAGERSARI, KECAMATAN KRIAN, KABUPATEN SIDOARJO
Total Water Hardness Shallow Groundwater in Magersari Hamlet, Krian Subdistrict, Sidoarjo Regency
Air merupakan salah satu sumber daya alam yang sangat penting bagi kehidupan manusia dan makhluk hidup lainnya. Air tanah dangkal Dusun Magersari merupakan sumber air utama untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air masyarakat Dusun Magersari. Air tanah dangkal Dusun Magersari yang bersifat terbuka bisa rentan terkontaminasi zat-zat kimia dari lingkungan sekitar. Kualitas air tanah dangkal Dusun Magersari sangat terbilang buruk karena masyarakat setempat melihat secara langsung timbulnya kerak putih di lantai kamar mandi dan peralatan rumah tangga. Hal ini dikhawatirkan akan menimbulkan penyakit yang cukup serius jika air tanah dangkal tersebut digunakan tanpa tahu bagaimana kualitas air yang ada. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis kesadahan air tanah dangkal berdasarkan Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan Republik Indonesia No. 32 Tahun 2017 dan dasar kesadahan APHA (American Public Health Association).
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menguji kesadahan total di laboratorium yang akan dibandingkan dengan standar baku mutu Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan No. 32 Tahun 2017 dan APHA (American Public Health Association). Pengujian kesadahan total dilakukan pada saat musim hujan. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengamatan langsung, wawancara, dan pengujian sampel di laboratorium PERUMDAM Surya Sembada Surabaya berdasarkan parameter kesadahan total.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kesadahan total pada air tanah dangkal Dusun Magersari sesuai dengan standar baku mutu Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan No. 32 Tahun 2017, akan tetapi menurut dasar kesadahan internasional atau APHA (American Public Health Association), tidak memenuhi dasar kesadahan karena tergolong sangat sadah. Hasil laboratorium menunjukkan semua sampel memiliki angka yang hampir sama, yaitu rata-rata 300 mg/L. Maka dari itu, jika lebih dari 300 mg/L menurut dasar kesadahan APHA (American Public Health Association), tergolong sangat sadah.

Water is one of the most important natural resources for human life and other living creatures. Shallow groundwater in Magersari Hamlet is the main source of water to meet the water needs of the Magersari Hamlet community. The shallow groundwater in Magersari Village, which is open, is susceptible to contamination by chemical substances from the surrounding environment. The quality of the shallow groundwater in Magersari Village is considered poor, as the local community has directly observed the formation of white deposits on bathroom floors and household appliances. This is a cause for concern, as it may lead to serious illnesses if the shallow groundwater is used without knowing its quality. This study was conducted to analyze the hardness of shallow groundwater based on the Indonesian Ministry of Health Regulation No. 32 of 2017 and the APHA (American Public Health Association) hardness standards.
This study employed a quantitative descriptive method by testing total hardness in a laboratory, which will be compared with the quality standards set by Minister of Health Regulation No. 32 of 2017 and the APHA (American Public Health Association). Total hardness testing was conducted during the rainy season. Data was collected through direct observation, interviews, and laboratory testing of samples at PERUMDAM Surya Sembada Surabaya based on total hardness parameters.
The results of this study indicate that the total hardness of shallow groundwater in Magersari Village complies with the quality standards set by Ministry of Health Regulation No. 32 of 2017. However, according to international hardness standards or APHA (American Public Health Association), it does not meet the hardness standards, as it is classified as very hard. Laboratory results showed that all samples had nearly identical values, with an average of 300 mg/L. Therefore, if the total hardness exceeds 300 mg/L according to the APHA (American Public Health Association) standard, it is classified as very hard.
