Analysis of Lebron James' Success in Becoming MVP at the 2024 Paris Olympics

Olahraga Bola Basket adalah olahraga beregu yang menggunakan tangan dengan cara memasukkan bola ke dalam ring dengan pemain berjumlah lima orang. Dalam permainan bola basket ada beberapa keterampilan teknik dasar yaitu 1). Teknik melempar dan menangkap, 2). Teknik menggiring bola, 3). Teknik menembak, 4). Teknik gerakan berporos, 5). Teknik tembakan lay up. MVP (Most Valuable Player) di sebuah pertandingan adalah sebutan kehormatan yang biasanya ditujukan kepada pemain berpenampilan terbaik dalam sebuah liga atau event. Ada beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi terjadinya MVP pada suatu pertandingan yaitu aspek kemampuan (skill atau keterampilan) contohnya dapat dinilai dari point, rebound, assist, blok, steal, foul dan turnover. Dan ada aspek psikologis, contohnya mental saat bertanding di lapangan karena mental yang baik dapat mempengaruhi performa atlet. Penelitian ini berupaya menganalisis terjadinya MVP pada atlet USA yaitu Lebron James yang bertanding di Olimpiade Paris 2024. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian deskriptif, penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data dengan dokumen yaitu berupa data hasil statistik pertandingan. Dalam pelaksanaan penelitian ini dilakukan melalui prosedur penilaian menggunakan statistik untuk mengetahui apa saja yang menyebabkan pemain menjadi MVP pada pertandingan Final Olimpiade Paris 2024 antara Amerika Serikat vs Prancis. Temuan penelitian mendapatkan hasil data dari statistik pertandingan yaitu memperoleh 14 point, 6 rebound, 1 blok, 10 assist, 2 steal, 5 turnover dan 3 foul dengan field goal 60% (6/10 shoot), 2point field goal 62,5% (5/8 shoot), 3point field goal 50% (1/2 shoot) dan free throw 100% (1/1 shoot). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah keberhasilan untuk menjadi pemain terbaik atau MVP bisa dinilai dengan menggunakan statistik pertandingan, semakin banyak melakukan kontribusi pada offense dan diffense. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi bagi pelatih untuk menerapkan dan memanfaatkan teknologi sesuai dengan kebutuhan atlet.

Basketball is a team sport that uses the hands by putting the ball into the ring with five players. In the game of basketball there are several basic technical skills, namely 1). Throwing and catching techniques, 2). Dribbling techniques, 3). Shooting techniques, 4). Pivoting movement techniques, 5). Lay up shooting techniques. MVP (Most Valuable Player) in a match is an honorary title that is usually given to the best performing player in a league or event. There are several factors that influence the occurrence of MVP in a match, namely the aspect of ability (skill or ability) for example can be assessed from points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals, fouls and turnovers. And there is a psychological aspect, for example mentality when competing on the field because a good mentality can affect an athlete's performance. This study attempts to analyze the occurrence of MVP in US athletes, namely Lebron James who competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The research method used is descriptive research, this study uses data collection techniques with documents, namely in the form of match statistics data. In implementing this research, an assessment procedure was carried out using statistics to find out what caused players to become MVPs in the 2024 Paris Olympics Final match between the United States vs France. The research findings obtained data results from match statistics, namely obtaining 14 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block, 10 assists, 2 steals, 5 turnovers and 3 fouls with a field goal of 60% (6/10 shoot), 2point field goal 62.5% (5/8 shoot), 3point field goal 50% (1/2 shoot) and free throw 100% (1/1 shoot). The conclusion of this study is that success in becoming the best player or MVP can be assessed using match statistics, the more contributions to offense and defense. This study provides recommendations for coaches to implement and utilize technology according to the needs of athletes.
