BIPA (Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing) adalah istilah untuk pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia yang dikhususkan untuk warga Negara asing. BIPA Unesa memiliki program pembelajaran BIPA yang mencakup keterampilan berbicara, menulis, membaca, dan menyimak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pengembangan media Monopara dan mendeskripsikan kualitas media Monopara dalam pembelajaran materi teks bersejarah di Indonesia.
Metode penelitian pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model penelitian pengembangan Thiagarajan yang terdiri atas empat tahapan, namun telah disederhanakan sesuai kebutuhan penelitian ini menjadi tiga tahapan, yaitu define, design, dan development. Pada tahap define, telah dilakukan langkah (1) analisis ujung depan,( 2) analisis mahasiswa BIPA, (3) analisis tugas, (4) analisis konsep, dan (5) perumusan tujuan pembelajaran. Tahap design telah dilakukan langkah (1) penyusunan tes acuan patokan yang menghubungkan define dan tahap design (2) pemilhan media yang sesuai tujuan untuk menyampaikan materi pelajaran (3) pemilihan format (4) membuat rancangan awal sesuai format yang dipilih. Tahap development telah dilakukan langkah (1) validasi ahli, (2) uji coba terbatas, (3) uji coba luas, dan (4) revisi.
Hasil penelitian terdiri atas dua data yaitu, proses pengembangan dan kualitas media Monopara. Proses pengembangan media Monopara telah selesai dilakukan pada tanggal 17 Februari 2020, media Monopara divalidasi pada tanggal 20 ─ 22 Februari 2020. Kualitas media Monopara ini dilakukan sesuai hasil persentase 91,7% yang tergolong “sangat berkualitas” hasil tersebut berdasarkan atas tiga kriteria yaitu, kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. Kevalidan media Monopara ditentukan melalui hasil validasi oleh validator ahli materi dan ahli media memperoleh persentase 93% yang termasuk “sangat layak”. Kepraktisan media Monopara ini dinilai dari hasil lembar respons mahasiswa BIPA yang memiliki kualitas media “sangat praktis” dengan persentase 98%. Keefektifan media Monopara ditentukan berdasarkan hasil observasi aktivitas guru dengan persentase 82,5%, observasi aktivitas mahasiswa BIPA dengan persentase 85%, dan hasil belajar mahasiswa BIPA dengan persentase 85,75%. Dapat disimpulkan jumlah akhir kualitas keefektifan media Monopara adalah “sangat efektif” dengan persentase 84%.

BIPA (Indonesian for Foreign Speakers) is a term for learning Indonesian that is specifically for foreign nationals. BIPA Unesa has a BIPA learning program that includes speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills. This research aims to describe the process of developing Monopara media and describe the quality of Monopara media in learning historic text material in Indonesia.
This development research method used the Thiagarajan development research model which consists of four stages, but has been simplified according to the needs of this study into three stages, namely define, design, and development. At the define stage, steps (1) front end analysis,i(2) BIPA studentianalysis, (3) task analysis, (4) conceptianalysis, and (5) formulation ofilearning objectives. The design phase has been carried out step (1) preparation of the benchmark test which connects the define and design stage (2) the selection of media that is suitable for delivering the subject matter (3) format selection (4) making the initial design according to the chosen formati. The development phase has carried out steps (1) expert validation, (2) limited trials, (3) extensive trials, and (4) revisions.
The results of the study consisted of two data, the development process and the quality of Monopara media. The development process of Monopara media was completed on February 17, 2020, Monopara media was validated on February 20 22, 2020, and field trials were conducted on March 11, 2020. The quality of this Monopara media was carried out according to the results of a percentage of 91.7% which was classified as "very high quality "These results are based on three criteria, validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The validity of Monopara media is determined through the results of validation by the material validator and the media expert obtains a percentage of 93% which is considered "very feasible". The practicality of Monopara's media was assessed from the results of the BIPA student response sheet which had a "very practical" quality of media with a percentage of 98%. The effectiveness of Monopara media is determined based on the results of observations of teacher activities with a percentage of 82.5%, observations of BIPA student activities with a percentage of 85%, and BIPA student learning outcomes with a percentage of 85.75%. It can be concluded that the final quality quality of Monopara's media is "very effective" with a percentage of 84%.
