Performa dari pompa sentrifugal dapat dilihat dari nilai efisiensi, head, net positive section head (npsh), dan kebisingan pompa itu sendiri. Impeller adalah salah satu komponen pompa yang sangat penting karena dapat mempengaruhi performa pompa sentrifugal, terdapat beberapa jenis impeller yaitu, impeller terbuka, impeller semi-terbuka, dan impeller tertutup. Penambahan jumlah bilah impeller adalah salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan performa pompa sentrifugal, selain itu juga kecepatan putar motor dan temperatur air dapat mempengaruhi performa pompa sentrifugal tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi temperatur air, variasi kecepatan putar motor dan variasi jumlah bilah impeller terhadap nilai efisiensi, head, NPSH, dan kebisingan pompa.
Variabel bebas yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah variasi temperatur air, variasi kecepatan putar, dan variasi jumlah bilah impeller. Variasi temperatur air yang digunakan adalah 30° C, 45° C, dan 60° C, dan untuk variasi kecepatan putar motor yaitu 1500 rpm, 2000 rpm, dan 2500 rpm. Sedangkan untuk variasi jumlah bilah yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah 7 bilah, 8 bilah, dan 9 bilah. Jenis impeller yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah impeller jenis tertutup, ini disebabkan karakter fluida (air) yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah air jernih.
Dari penelitian ini dihasilkan head tertinggi yaitu 11,96 m dan kapasitas tertinggi yaitu 52 lpm pada temperatur air 30° C kecepatan 2500 rpm dan impeller bilah 8. Sedangkan untuk efisiensi tertinggi yaitu 61,76 % didapatkan pada temperatur air 30° C kecepatan 2000 rpm impeller bilah 8 dan untuk NPSHa tertinggi didapatkan pada temperatur air 30° C kecepatan 1500 rpm dan impeller bilah 7. Dan kebisingan terendah yaitu 65,7 dB didapatkan pada kecepatan 1500 rpm impeller bilah 7.

The performance of the centrifugal pump can be seen from the value of efficiency, head, net positive section head (npsh), and the noise of the pump itself. Impeller is a pump component that is very important because it can affect the performance of centrifugal pumps, there are several types of impellers, namely, open impellers, semi-open impellers, and closed impellers. The addition of the number of impeller blades is one way to improve the performance of a centrifugal pump, besides that the motor rotational speed and water temperature can affect the performance of the centrifugal pump. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of variations in water temperature, variations in motor rotational speed and variations in the number of impeller blades to the value of efficiency, head, NPSH, and pump noise.
The independent variables used in this study are variations in water temperature, variations in rotational speed, and variations in the number of impeller blades. The temperature variations of water used are 30 °C, 45 °C, and 60 °C, and for variations in motor rotational speed which are 1500 rpm, 2000 rpm and 2500 rpm. While for the variation of the number of blades used in this study were 7 blades, 8 blades, and 9 blades. The type of impeller used in this study is a closed type impeller, this is due to the fluid character (water) used in this study is clear water.
From this study the highest head was produced at 11.96 m and the highest capacity was 52 lpm at a water temperature of 30 °C at 2500 rpm and impeller for blade 8. Whereas the highest efficiency is 61.76% obtained at a water temperature of 30 °C the speed of 2000 rpm impeller blades 8 and the highest NPSHa is obtained at a water temperature of 30 °C speed 1500 rpm and impeller blade 7. And the lowest noise is 65.7 dB obtained at a speed of 1500 rpm impeller blades 7.
