Science
is one of the subjects that teaches students about processes and facts related
to natural phenomena and living things. The material given to science subjects
is a kind of material that is fun for students. But if a teacher cannot convey
it well, science lesson material will be boring. One way to improve the way the
material is delivered is by using learning media. The use of instructional
media proved to be able to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the
classroom.
A
study at Kebaron Elementary School in Tulangan Sidoarjo district found that
teachers in the classroom rarely used media in the teaching and learning
process. The teacher still maintains a bright model when explaining class
lessons. At the same time, many teachers encounter problems such as students
who play and do not pay attention in the process of learning science. The researcher
then made a study about the use of pictorial playing card media in science
learning. The subjects used were teacher and elementary school students,
amounting to 37 people. All studies were carried out at the school.
In
this study there are two cycles used. The first cycle is used to determine the
initial ability when the research will be conducted, and the second cycle is
used to measure the achievement of students and teachers after the study.

was conducted, the results of the increase in the activity of teachers and
students in the classroom were obtained. In addition there is also an increase
in learning outcomes from students after using pictorial rummy media. These
results indicate that the use of pictorial rummy media can improve the learning
and teaching process in the classroom.
