This research was developed to overcome learning problems
that existed in the vocational high school 6 surabaya class X multimedia students, after observing and
interviewing the problems obtained were (1) students had difficulty
understanding the concept of combining vector images and bitmaps (2) students
had difficulty combining vector and bitmap images and schools has the potential
to support the holding of a learning media to overcome learning problems in vocational high school 6 surabaya class X multimedia students.
So,this study aims to determine the development of video
tutorial media on the work results or learning projects of vocational high school 6 surabaya class X multimedia students with the subject matter
"design of combining vector images and bitmaps on vector images and
bitmaps" in the basic subjects of graphic design. Video is something that
enables audio signals to be combined with sequential moving images in learning,
while tutorial videos can be interpreted as videos that are deliberately
created in order to guide learning to students or groups of students. The video
tutorial design of combining vector and bitmap images can help students more
easily and understand how to design a merge of vector images and bitmaps in the
form of a poster. The use of video tutorials in a learning process can affect
the results of student learning projects.
This type of
research is an experimental design with Randomized Post Only control group
design. There are two methods of collecting data in this study, namely
observation and tests, the observation method is used by researchers to collect
data relating to learning problems that exist in schools and collect data in
the development of this video learning tutorial media. whereas, the test method
in this study uses performance tests to assess the results of student learning
projects in creating designs to combine vector images and bitmaps or posters
using a CorelDraw application.
Data
analysis techniques in this study using Homogeneity Test, normality test, and t
test (t-test). The homogeneity test and the normality test were conducted to
see whether the students or the experimental class and the control class used
for the study were homogeneous and normal, while the t-test analysis (t-test)
was conducted to compare the results of the posttest of the experimental group
and the control group. The results of the posttest analysis are seen from the T
table with a significant level of 5%. Db = 58 = 2,000 then obtained T count
2.081. So T count is greater than T table which is 2.081> 2,000 so that
there are significant differences between the results of the Posttest of the
Experimental Group and the Control Group.
The
conclusions in this study indicate that with the development of video tutorial
media the design of combining vector and bitmap images, the students
project learning results are more superior than students who do not use
the development of video tutorial media design combining vector and bitmap
images in X Multimedia class students at Surabaya 6 Vocational High School.
