Kakek Bodo Waterfall is a tourist attraction located in Pecalukan
Village, Prigen District, Pasuruan Regency which can be developed into a major
natural tourist destination. The number of tourist visitors decreased by 20% in
2016-2017 and increased again in 2017 to 2019, which could have an effect on
natural and environmental damage. The purpose of this study was to determine
the value of environmental carrying capacity in the form of physical, real,
effective carrying capacity in the Kakek Bodo Waterfall area.
This type of research is descriptive quantitative. Visitors to the nature
tourism of the Grandfather Bodo Waterfall are the population in this study. The
number of samples was 150 visitors with the Accidental Sampling method.
Interview technique to find out the required area, opening period, number of
employees, the need for tourist areas, and the length of time tourists visit.
Observation to collect land slope and water body cover data. Documentation in
the form of data on the number of visitors and data on rainfall and rainy days.
Data on the characteristics of the Kakek Bodo Waterfall tourism object was
obtained from measurements through interviews with managers. Technical data
analysis uses a formula developed by Sayan and Atik (in Hidayati 2022:2) to determine
the value of physical, real, and effective carrying capacity in the Kakek Bodo
Waterfall Area.
The results of the study determine the value of physical carrying
capacity (PCC) of 10,024 tourists/day, real carrying capacity (RCC) of 9,833
tourists/day, effective carrying capacity (ECC) of 4,582 tourists/day. The
magnitude of the value of the existing environmental carrying capacity, Kakek
Bodo Waterfall Nature Tourism can still accommodate more tourists by paying
attention to existing needs, Physical carrying capacity of 97% or 9,800
tourists per day, real carrying capacity of 97% or 9,609 tourists per day days,
and an effective carrying capacity of 95% or 4,358 tourists per day.
