IMPLEMENTATION OF EXTREME PROGRAMMING METHOD IN THE APPLICATION OF WEB-BASED PRIVATE E-COUNSELING SYSTEM TO ENHANCE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF STUDENT COUNSELING (CASE STUDY: SMA MUHAMMADIYAH 7 SURABAYA)
Guidance and counseling are important components of educational programs. SMA Muhammadiyah 7 Surabaya, as an A-accredited institution, has provided counseling services since its inception. However, in practice, there have been several challenges, such as the low interest of students in face-to-face counseling sessions and poorly systematized data recording and retrieval. The purpose of this research is to provide solutions to address the issues in the implementation of counseling services at SMA Muhammadiyah 7 Surabaya through the application of a web-based Private E-Counseling system using the Extreme Programming (XP) method, which includes planning, design, coding, and testing stages. The Extreme Programming method was chosen for its flexibility in accommodating changing system requirements and its direct involvement of users. Through blackbox testing and usability testing by users using the System Usability Scale (SUS), the implemented Private E-Counseling system achieved an average SUS score of 81.3, categorizing it as acceptable and proving to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of student counseling services at SMA Muhammadiyah 7 Surabaya.
