Local
use of the Gondang Reservoir by the people of Gondanglor Village plays a
significant role in daily life where some people use the reservoir in their
economic activities such as in the agricultural, tourism and fisheries sectors.
However, there are problems related to the presence of waste around the water
area and the environment around the reservoir, which can affect the quality and
function of the reservoir. This research aims to identify types of community
participation and analyze the relationship between education level and
community participation in reservoir management.
The
research method used is a quantitative method with a survey research type.
Sampling is carried out using techniques simple random sampling with the number
of samples used being 91 respondents. Data collection was carried out by
observation, questionnaires, structured interviews, and literature study with
data analysis techniques using descriptive percentage analysis and the Kendal
Tau b correlation test.
The research
results show that there are types of community participation in the management
of the Gondang Reservoir, including idea participation in the low category,
energy participation in the low category, and money participation in the low
category. The results of the mutual correlation test show that there is no
significant relationship between the level of formal education and community
participation in the management of the Gondang Reservoir with a sig value of
0.061>0.05, while the relationship between the level of formal education
supported by the level of non-formal education also does not have a significant
relationship with community participation in reservoir management with a sig
value of 0.113>0.05. The correlation results in the two models tested did
not show a significant relationship because educational factors, both formal
and non-formal, were only able to explain a small part of their influence on
community participation, so that the influence of other variables or factors
were identified as being more correlated with community participation,
including economic factors, awareness factors. community, socio-cultural
factors, policy factors related to reservoir management, and distance factors
from people's homes to the reservoir.
