Based on the results of preliminary observations, it is known that the fine motoric abilities of children are still not optimally developed, so one need to improve fine motor skills is by providing finger painting activities in order to determine the improvement in children's fine motor skills in group B at Surabaya State Kindergarten. This study uses a quantitative research approach with a quasi experimental design with a type of nonequivalent control group design. The research subjects were 30 children. The technique of collecting data uses observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used the non-parametric test using the Mann Whitney U Test and with the help of using SPSS 25 data analysis techniques. To determine the conclusions of testing hypotheses, namely by paying attention to the basis of the Whitney U Test Mann decision test this is a significance value or Asymp. Sig (2 tailed) <from the probability of 0.05 then the hypothesis or Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Otherwise if the value is significant or Asymp. Sig (2 tailed)> of the probability of 0.05 then the hypothesis or Ha is rejected and Ho is accepted. Based on the results of research on fine motor data From the data from the Mann Whitney U Test test results can be concluded that the value of Asymp. Sig. (2 tailed) which is equal to 0.014. The basis for decision making in the Mann Whitney U Test is if the value of Asymp. Sig <0.05 then the hypothesis or Ha is accepted. From the acquisition of the Mann Whitney U Test, it can be concluded that the value of Asymp. Sig 0.014 <0.05 then according to the basis of the decision making Mann Whitney U Test can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, the results of the study can be concluded that the finger painting activity has an effect on fine motor skills in group B children in the Surabaya Kindergarten of the Builder
