STUDI FENOMENOLOGI PERSONAL GROWTH INITIATIVE MAHASISWA YANG BEKERJA SAMBIL KULIAH
PHENOMENOLOGICAL STUDY OF PERSONAL GROWTH INITIATIVE OF STUDENTS WHO WORK WHILE STUDYING
Personal growth initiative merupakan kemampuan dan kesiapan individu yang secara aktif dan sadar terlibat dalam proses perkembangan diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan memahami bagaimana personal growth initiative (PGI) muncul dan berkembang pada mahasiswa yang bekerja sambil kuliah. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif fenomenologis, dengan lima partisipan yang memiliki pengalaman bekerja sebelumnya dan saat ini masih aktif bekerja. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi terstruktur dan dianalisis menggunakan metode interpretative phenomenology analysis (IPA). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa pekerja menunjukkan pola personal growth initiative yang konsisten dan dipengaruhi oleh faktor tanggung jawab pribadi, religiusitas, kontrol diri, dan makna terhadap pengalaman kerja berperan sebagai penguat dalam proses pertumbuhan pribadi. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar bagi intervensi psikologis yang relevan dengan konteks mahasiswa pekerja, khususnya dalam mendukung pertumbuhan pribadi dan pengelolaan peran ganda secara sehat.

Personal growth initiatives are the abilities and readiness of individuals who actively and consciously engage in the process of self-development. This study aims to understand how personal growth initiatives (PGI) emerge and develop in students who work while studying. The method used was a qualitative phenomenological approach, with five participants who had previous work experience and were currently working. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using interpretive phenomenological analysis (IPA). The results of this study indicate that student workers demonstrate a consistent pattern of personal growth initiatives influenced by factors such as personal responsibility, religiosity, self-control, and the meaning of work experiences, which act as reinforcements in the personal growth process. This research is expected to form the basis for psychological interventions relevant to the context of student workers, particularly in supporting personal growth and healthy dual role management.
