INFLUENCE 5 TECHNIQUES OF FINGER PAINTING ON FINE MOTOR PHYSICAL ABILITY IN CHILDREN B GROUP

One of children's basic skills that need to be developed is motor skills which consist of gross motor skills and fine motor skills. Based on the outcomes of the initial observations, it was discovered that the children’s fine motor skills were yet to develop optimally. Therefore, it was necessary to take some actions to stimulate such skills. One of which was by providing finger painting activities with the aim of developing the children’s fine motor skills in group B at Istiqomah Kindergarten Surabaya. This study used Pre-Experimental Design with the type of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of this study was the whole children of group B at Istiqomah Kindergarten Surabaya with a sample of 24 children. The data collection techniques used were observation. The data analysis technique was non-parametric statistics using the Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Test with Tcount < Ttable and a significance level of 5%. Based on the data processing result of , while Tcount =0 while Ttable for N=24 with a significance level of 5% was 81, hence (0<81). Thus, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the activity of 5 finger painting techniques affected the children’s fine motor skills in group B at Istiqomah Kindergarten Surabaya.
