Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki dan menganalisis implementasi Kurikulum International Baccalaureate (IB) pada jenjang sekolah dasar di dua situs berbeda, yaitu Sekolah Ciputra dan Surabaya Intercultural School. Fokus penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami bagaimana Kurikulum IB diterapkan dalam konteks sekolah dasar di kedua situs tersebut dan mengidentifikasi dampak dari implementasi.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi multi situs, yang melibatkan pengumpulan data dari kedua sekolah secara paralel. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi kelas, wawancara dengan pengawas sekolah, kepala sekolah, koordinator kurikulum, guru dan peserta didik, serta analisis dokumen terkait kurikulum dan proses pembelajaran. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan lintas situs yang mencakup pengelompokan tematik dan pembandingan antara kedua situs.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi Kurikulum IB pada jenjang sekolah dasar di Sekolah Ciputra dan Surabaya Intercultural School memiliki beberapa kesamaan. Kedua sekolah menekankan pengembangan holistik peserta didik dengan fokus pada aspek sosial, emosional, kognitif, dan keterampilan sepanjang kehidupan. Baik Sekolah Ciputra maupun Surabaya Intercultural School juga menerapkan pendekatan yang berpusat pada peserta didik, menekankan pengembangan keterampilan berpikir kritis, kreativitas, komunikasi, dan kolaborasi.
Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi Kurikulum IB pada jenjang sekolah dasar di Sekolah Ciputra dan Surabaya Intercultural School memberikan dampak positif dalam pengembangan holistik peserta didik. Namun, adanya perbedaan pendekatan pembelajaran dan penugasan guru menunjukkan adanya variasi dalam implementasi Kurikulum IB di kedua sekolah tersebut.
Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam memahami implementasi Kurikulum IB pada jenjang sekolah dasar dan memberikan wawasan kepada pendidik, pengambil kebijakan, dan praktisi pendidikan. Penemuan ini dapat digunakan sebagai dasar untuk meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi implementasi Kurikulum IB di sekolah-sekolah dasar, serta memberikan sumbangan ilmiah dalam penelitian tentang pendidikan internasional dan pengembangan kurikulum.

This research aims to investigate and analyze the implementation of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Curriculum at the elementary school level in two different sites, namely Ciputra School and Surabaya Intercultural School. The focus of this research is to understand how the IB Curriculum is implemented in the context of elementary schools in both sites and to identify the impact of the implementation.
The research method used is qualitative descriptive with a multi-site study approach, which involves data collection from both schools in parallel. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with school supervisors, principals, curriculum coordinators, teachers, and students, as well as the analysis of curriculum-related documents and learning processes. Data analysis was conducted using a cross-site approach that included thematic grouping and comparison between the two sites.
The results of the research show that the implementation of the IB Curriculum at the elementary school level in Ciputra School and Surabaya Intercultural School has several similarities. Both schools emphasize the holistic development of students with a focus on social, emotional, cognitive, and lifelong learning skills. Both Ciputra School and Surabaya Intercultural School also implement a student-centered approach, emphasizing the development of critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration skills.
Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the IB Curriculum at the elementary school level in Ciputra School and Surabaya Intercultural School has a positive impact on the holistic development of students. However, the differences in learning approaches and teacher assignments indicate variations in the implementation of the IB Curriculum in both schools.
This research provides important contributions to understanding the implementation of the IB Curriculum at the elementary school level and provides insights to educators, policymakers, and education practitioners. These findings can be used as a basis for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the implementation of the IB Curriculum in elementary schools and contribute to scientific research on international education and curriculum development.
