LAGU KNOW YOU BY HEART KARYA DAVE KOZ DALAM KONTEKS ANALISIS BENTUK LAGU DAN TEKNIK PERMAINAN SAXOPHONE

DAVE KOZ'S SONG KNOW YOU BY HEART IN THE CONTEXT OF SONG FORM ANALYSIS AND SAXOPHONE PLAYING TECHNIQUES 

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bentuk lagu dan teknik permainan saxophone pada lagu yang berjudul Know You by Heart karya Dave Koz (1999). Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui wawancara, buku, karya tulis ilmiah maupun partitur lagu Know You by Heart yang menjadi bahan analisis untuk topik penelitian ini. Teknik analisis data terdiri atas reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penyimpulan. Validitas data dilakukan dengan triangulasi sumber data, triangulasi teknik, dan triangulasi waktu. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa; 1) Bentuk lagu pada lagu ini merupakan bentuk lagu sederhana yang meliputi A-B-A-B. 2) Teknik permainan saxophone pada lagu ini dibagi berdasarkan 2 teknik yaitu teknik penjarian dan teknik tiup, meliputi grace note yang terdiri dari mordent dan acciaccatura, lalu bending, glissando, altissimo, triol, dan crescendo. 

This study aims to analyze the form of the song and the technique of playing saxophone on a song entitled Know You by Heart by Dave Koz (1999). This study uses a qualitative method. Data collection was obtained through interviews, books, scientific papers and scores for the song Know You by Heart which became material for analysis for this research topic. The results of this study show that; 1) The form of the song in this song is a simple song form which includes A-B-A-B. 2) The technique of playing the saxophone in this song is divided based on 2 techniques, namely the fingering technique and the winding technique, including the grace note which consists of mordent and acciaccatura, then bending, glissando, altissimo, triol, and crescendo.
