THE DEVELOPMENT OF LEARNING EQUIPMENTS USED PROBLEM BASED LEARNING MODEL IN SEQUENCES AND SERIES MATERIAL TO IMPROVE THE HOTS OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh minimnya kemampuan siswa dalam menjawab soal Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Hal ini ditunjukkan dari data hasil survei TIMSS 2015 yang menyatakan bahwa Indonesia memperoleh peringkat 45 dari 50 negara. Selanjutnya hasil survei PISA tahun 2015 menunjukkan kompetensi matematika yang diperoleh Indonesia yaitu sebesar 386 poin dari 600 poin dengan peringkat 64 dari 72 negara, oleh karena itu, dalam meningkatkan HOTS diperlukan perangkat pembelajaran model Problem Based Learning (Rahmawati, 2016). Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mendeskripsikan proses dan hasil pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran model Problem Based Learning materi barisan dan deret untuk meningkatkan HOTS siswa SMA.
Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan Plomp yang terdiri dari fase investigasi awal, fase desain, fase realisasi, dan fase tes, evaluasi dan revisi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi perangkat pembelajaran, lembar pengamatan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, lembar penilaian, dan lembar angket respon siswa. Perangkat ini diuji cobakan secara terbatas pada 32 siswa kelas XI MIPA-3 di SMAN 1 Sidoarjo.
Hasil dari pengembangan perangkat ini yaitu perangkat pembelajaran dikategorikan sangat baik (dengan nilai rata-rata total kevalidan RPP sebesar 4,30, kevalidan LKS sebesar 4,28, dan kevalidan LP sebesar 4,25 dari total 5,00), praktis (dengan rata-rata penilaian validator yaitu sedikit revisi dan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dalam kategori sangat baik dengan rata-rata sebesar 3,71), dan efektif (ketuntasan klasikal tercapai, Tes Hasil Belajar II lebih tinggi dari Tes Hasil Belajar I, dan skor siswa pada soal HOTS nomor 1 pada THB II lebih tinggi dari skor nomor 1(b) pada THB I, dan respon positif siswa). Sehingga perangkat pembelajaran model Problem Based Learning materi barisan dan deret dapat meningkatkan HOTS siswa SMA.

This research is based on the lack of students ability to answer the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions. This is shown from the survey results of TIMSS in 2015 which stated that Indonesia ranked 45 of 50 countries. Furthermore, the survey results of the PISA in 2015 showed that Indonesia's mathematical competence was 386 points of 600 points with a rating of 64 from 72 countries, therefore, to improving HOTS a Problem Based Learning model is needed (Rahmawati, 2016). The purpose of this study is to describe the process and results of the development of learning equipments used Problem Based Learning model in sequences and series material to improve HOTS of Senior High School students.
The type of this research is developmental research that uses the Plomp Development model which consists of preliminary investigation phase, design phase, realization phase, and test, evaluation and revision phase. The research instrument used was a learning device validation sheet, an observation sheet of learning implementation, an assessment sheet, and a student questionnaire response sheet. This learning tools was tested to 32 students of XI MIPA-3 class at SMAN 1 Sidoarjo.
The results of these development equipments are categorized very well (which is shown by the an average value of 4.30 for lesson plan, 4.28 for student’s worksheet, 4.25 for assessment sheet range from 5.00), practical (which is shown by the average rating of the validator is a little revision and the implementation of learning in the excellent category with an average of 3.71), and effective (classical succeed is reached, Learning Outcome II is higher than Learning Outcome I, and student scores on HOTS questions number 1 on Test II is higher than score number 1(b) on Test I, and student response is positive). So, the learning equipments used Problem Based Learning model in sequences and series can improve HOTS of Senior High School students.
