Penelitian ini berawal dari  kebijakan  sekolah MAN 1 Pasuruan sebagai sekolah sistem SKS. Sistem SKS yakni Sistem Kredit Semester. Dimana jenjang SMA  ditempuh selama 2 tahun. Sekolah memiliki kriteria  untuk menjaring siswa yang dianggap mampu menempuh SMA 2 tahun. sekolah melakukan selesksi yang sangat ketat.  Dengan tujuan untuk mendapatkan anak-anak yang cerdas dan dapat mengikuti proses pembelajaran yang cepat. Sekolah memiliki slogan  bagi siswa program SKS dengan nama “PDCI” (Peserta Didik Cerdas Istimewa). Lokasi penelitian  di sekolah MAN 1 Pasuruan. Subyek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa SKS, guru BK, Wali kelas, Kepala Lab PDCI dan Waka Kurikulum.Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui bentuk dan praktek hegemoni yang dilakukan guru serta sekolah. Pemikiran Antonio Gramsci tentang hegemoni digunakan sebagai pisau analisis dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive dan pengumpulan data menggunakan data primer serta sekunder. Temuan data dianalisis menggunakan teknik Miles dan Huberman.

Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan praktek dan bentuk hegemoni diciptakan untuk melanggengkan kekuasaan intelektual. Beberapa bentuk hegemoni yang terjadi di MAN 1 Pasuruan seperti hegemoni promosi SKS,  hegemoni kelas percepatan, hegemoni konsultasi jurusan. Sebelum hegemoni diberikan  kepada siswa, sekolah menanamkan ide melalui intelektualnya. Sekolah melakukan berbagai upaya intelektual agar program SKS berjalan baik. Usaha tersebut dilakukan dengan upaya politis untuk meyakinkan orangtua siswa. Sekolah juga memberikan wacana berbentuk motivasi ketika proses hegemoni mulai melemah. Berbagai bentuk hegemoni dilakukan sekolah sebagai usaha pelanggengan sistem SKS sebagai program unggulan.

This study began with the school policy of MAN 1 Pasuruan as a SKS system school. The SKS system, namely the Semester Credit System. Where the high school level taken for 2 years. Schools have criteria for capturing students who are considered capable of taking 2 years of high school. The school does a very strict selection. With the aim to get children who are smart and can follow the learning process quickly. The school has a slogan for SKS program students with the name "PDCI" (Special Intelligent Students). Research location at MAN 1 Pasuruan school. The subjects of this study were SKS students, BK teachers, homeroom teachers, Head of PDCI Labs and Waka Curriculum. The study aimed to find out the shape and practice of hegemony by teachers and schools. Antonio Gramsci's thoughts about hegemony are used as a knife of analysis with descriptive qualitative methods. This study uses a purposive technique and data collection uses primary and secondary data. Data findings were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman technique.

The results of the research show that the practice and form of hegemony were created to preserve intellectual power. Some forms of hegemony that occur in MAN 1 Pasuruan such as hegemony promotion SKS, hegemony class acceleration, hegemony consulting majors. Before hegemony is given to students, schools instill ideas through their intellect. Schools make various intellectual efforts so that the SKS program runs well. The effort was made with political efforts to convince parents of students. Schools also provide discourses in the form of motivation when the hegemony process begins to weaken. Various forms of hegemony are carried out by schools as an effort to preserve the SKS system as a superior program.
