EVALUASI EFEKTIVITAS PROGRAM KELAS INDUSTRI JURUSAN TKJ DI SMKN 1 TUREN MENGGUNAKAN MODEL CIPP
EVALUATION OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE INDUSTRY CLASS PROGRAM IN THE COMPUTER AND NETWORK ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT AT SMKN 1 TUREN USING THE CIPP MODEL
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Industrial Class Program in the Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) Department, focusing on mobile phone service and repair at SMKN 1 Turen, and to formulate recommendations for its improvement. The evaluation employed the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, Product) to examine the alignment between the program’s foundation and industry needs, the readiness of resources, the implementation of learning activities, and the program outcomes.
The study adopted a program evaluation approach using a mixed-methods design. Qualitative data were collected through document analysis, interviews with school stakeholders and the industry partner, as well as observation and SWOT analysis. Quantitative data were obtained through questionnaires administered to teachers, curriculum managers, and 34 students enrolled in the industrial class. Qualitative data were analyzed through data collection, reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Quantitative data were analyzed using percentage scores (%Score) and categorized as low, moderate, or high based on the quartile distribution (Q1–Q3), after which evaluative decisions were mapped using a case-order effect matrix. The integration of findings was conducted through methodological triangulation to ensure consistency of information across data collection techniques.
The evaluation results indicate that the Context component is categorized as high in terms of the program’s partnership foundation and its relevance to industry needs; however, the school’s feasibility as a provider remains at a moderate level, particularly regarding institutional readiness and facility support. In the Input component, teacher capacity and the curriculum are categorized as high, while some practice facilities are still at a moderate level compared with the established minimum standard (≥ 80%). The Process component is rated high because learning implementation follows planning, hands-on practice is well-structured, and the industrial internship is relevant, scheduled, and monitored by both the school and industry. In the Product component, students’ competency achievement based on competency test records (n = 34) shows a highest score of 90 and a lowest score of 45, with a mean of 73 and a median of 75 (moderate category), while the industry partner’s appraisal of technical competence, work attitudes, and graduate employability is categorized as high in line with the Product indicators (certification/industry assessment outcomes).
Overall, the TKJ Industrial Class Program at SMKN 1 Turen is considered effective in bridging school-based learning with labor market needs and is recommended to be continued, with priority improvements directed at components that remain in the moderate category, particularly strengthening provider feasibility and the fulfillment of practice facilities.
