This study aims to determine the effect of verbal reinforcement on learning outcomes under volleyball passing. Reinforcement is a response to a behavior that can increase the likelihood of a repeat of the behavior. The purpose of providing reinforcement in the learning process is to increase students' attention to the lesson, stimulate and increase learning motivation, and enhance learning activities and foster productive student behavior. This study uses quasi-experimental research with a quantitative approach to the design of one group pretest-posttest. The research targets were Surabaya 11 Public High School with a population of 10 classes from class XI, the sampling method used cluster random sampling and obtained class XI Science 3 with 36 students. The instrument used in this study, namely, the assessment of knowledge and skills, based on the results of the research providing verbal reinforcement there is a significant influence on the provision of reinforcement vebal on learning outcomes under volleyball passing to class XI IPA 3 students in state senior high school 11 Surabaya. This can be seen based on the different test that is a significant value of 0,000 < 0,05 and the magnitude of the effect of giving reinforcement vebal to the learning outcomes under volleyball passing is evidenced by the calculation of the percentage of pretest and posttest knowledge of 18,59% and skills of 31,16% . Then it can be concluded that student learning outcomes in passing under volleyball can be improved through providing verbal reinforcement.
