This research is motivated by the deep-rooted patriarchal reality in the social structure of Indonesian society, especially in the domestic sphere, as well as the lack of studies that specifically highlight the figure of the father as an agent of domination. This research aims to (1) analyze the representation of the patriarchal domination of the father in the film Bolehkah Sekali Saja Kumenangis, (2) identify the form of existential resistance of female characters against the patriarchal domination of the father in the domestic sphere based on the perspective of Simone de Beauvoir's existentialist feminism, and (3) explain the process of transcendence of female characters from the position of the Other, the existential subject according to Simone de Beauvoir. This research uses a qualitative research type with a descriptive approach and film text analysis. The research data source is the film Bolehkah Sekali Saja Kumenangis by Reka Wijaya. The data collection techniques used are the reading and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model which consists of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of the study show three main findings. First, the patriarchal domination of the father is represented through four forms, namely structural domination, psychological domination, verbal domination, and the power of space for movement. Second, the existential resistance of the female characters is in the form of active resistance, with the character Tari showing active resistance since the beginning of the film, while the character Ibu only shows active resistance at the climax of the story, and there is no passive resistance found in the film. Third, the process of transcendence of the female characters from the position of The Other to the existential subject through four stages, namely immanence, awareness of the position of The Other, the process of transcendence, and existential freedom. Based on these results, it is concluded that the film Bolehkah Sekali Saja Kumenangis not only represents the patriarchal domination of the father in its various forms, but also proves that women have the capacity to resist and achieve existential freedom through the process of awareness and transcendence. Thus, this film is a reflection material on the reality of patriarchal domination in the family and the need for resistance from women.
