ABSTRACK
IMPLEMENTATION OF CONTROL AND MONITORING OF ELECTRIC CURRENT PROTECTION SYSTEM IN NODE-RED
BASED CABLE EXTENSION AS AN effort TO PREVENT FIRE
Unwise use of electrical energy in households can cause energy waste and
increase the risk of hazards, such as short circuits hat have the potential
to cause fires. Based on data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral
Resources , households account for around 48.38% of the total electricity
usage in Indonesia. Therefore, a protection system is needed hat is able
to monitor current and power in real-time and automatically disconnect
the current when overload occurs, especially on frequently used extension
pr roll cables, This research develops a Node-Red-based electric currens
protection system using ESP8266 microcontroller, and PZEM 004-T
sensor _to detect voltage, curent, and power. The system is remotely
ontrolled and integrated with a Wi-Fi network
Tests were conducted individually and combined on household evices
such as laptop chargers, fans, and solderers, The test results show that the
ystem can accurately monitor current and power, and maintain electrical stability when the load is below the safe limit, When the load
exceeds the set limit, the system automatically cuts offthe electricity to
prevent the risk of fire. This implementation is expected to improve the
safety of electricity use in households and become a reference for further
development in Internet of Things (loT)-based protection systems.
