This study aims to determine the acceptance of parents who have children with down syndrome. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research subjects were 5 people based on purposive sampling technique. The data collection process used a semi-structured interview technique. The data that has been obtained is processed using data analysis techniques Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The results showed that the acceptance of parents who have children with Down syndrome especially for mothers can be described through the process of acceptance, social acceptance, continuation after acceptance and rejection. The process of acceptance is shown through feelings of surprise, disappointment, sadness, shock and distrust of parents over the conditions that befell their children. Feelings of sadness are shown by parents, especially a mother with a child with Down syndrome who is always worried about her child's future. Social acceptance of parents gets the greatest influence from the social environment such as family and neighbors so that they are able to provide strength and positive energy to take care of their children. Parental acceptance of children with Down syndrome is also raised in the form of rejection in the form of ignoring the child at certain times
