As a continuation of the evaluation,
the teacher provides remedies for learning based on the students' final grades
when working on the questions. The response from students shows an
understanding of the learning process, so the need for an analysis process to
check students' responses in understanding the questions. This study looked at
the category of solving mathematical problems through the SOLO taxonomy level,
then a descriptive qualitative analysis method was carried out by analyzing and
describing the conditions according to the results of interviews and field
analysis. This study also aims to see the students' ability to reason highly in
solving problems in math problems in the fraction count operation material
through the test questions that will be given. The research was conducted in
Class V of Primary
School
Jatikalang 1, Krian, Sidoarjo with 8 students as research subjects. Data
collection techniques were carried out using written tests, observations, and
interviews. The data analysis of this research includes the stages of data
collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The
results of the research at SDN Jatikalang 1, Krian, Sidoarjo are that there are
only 2 levels of student ability levels based on the SOLO Taxonomy Level,
namely at level 1 the unistructural stage and level 2 the multistructural
stage. Based on the percentage results obtained, there were 84% or as many as 5
students with the SOLO Taxonomy level 1 category, namely the unistructural
stage and 16% or as many as 1 student with the SOLO Taxonomy level 2 category,
the multistructural stage. Based on the results of this study, it can be
concluded that the fifth grade students of Primary School Jatikalang 1, Krian at Level 1 or Unistructural Level,
students of Primary School Jatikalang 1, Krian Sidoarjo are able to understand the questions, but have not
been able to plan and solve the questions properly and correctly. Meanwhile,
students with Level 2, which only consists of 1 student, when viewed from the
process or steps of work, already understand the questions and can plan but
have not been able to solve the questions properly and correctly. Factors that
affect the level of ability to solve problem in the fraction count operation
material include factors from within themselves and factors from outside.
Factors from within the students themselves, namely the high reasoning ability
in mathematics is less sharpened at the time of learning and external factors
that affect the level of the depth of the material provided by the teacher can
be stated to be insufficient.
