IMPLEMENTASI MEDIA SIMULASI PhET UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS SISWA
IMPLEMENTATION OF PHET SIMULATIONS MEDIA TO IMPROVE STUDENTS' SCIENCE PROCESS SKILLS
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik dengan penerapan media simulasi PhET. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain one group pretest dan posttest. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 30 peserta didik kelas VIII-B di salah satu MTs di Surabaya. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan, yakni tes tulis, observasi, dan survey. Data yang telah terkumpul selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan Normalized Gain, persentase keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, persentase angket respons. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan proses sains siswa meningkat dengan kriteria tinggi. Keterlaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan media simulasi PhET dengan model inkuiri terstruktur terlaksana pada seluruh tahapan. Respons peserta didik terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan media simulasi PhET mendapat persentase dengan dengan kriteria sangat baik tiap indikator. Berdasarkan pemaparan tersebut meskipun terdapat keterbatasan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa keterampilan proses sains peserta didik dapat ditingkatkan dengan menggunakan media simulasi PhET.

This study aims to describe the improvement of students' science process skills with the application of PhET simulations media. This study used a one group pretest and posttest design. The subjects in this study were 30 students of class VIII-B at one of the MTsN in Surabaya. Data collection techniques used, namely written tests, observations, and surveys. The data that has been collected is then analyzed using Normalized Gain, percentage of learning implementation, percentage of response questionnaire. The results showed that students' science process skills improved with high criteria. The implementation of learning using PhET simulations media with a structured inquiry model was carried out at all stages. Students' responses to learning using PhET simulations media received a percentage with very good criteria for each indicator. Based on this explanation, although there are limitations, it can be concluded that the science process skills of students can be improved by using PhET simulations media.
