Momotaro
is a very famous folktale in Japan that has now become worldwide. Momotaro is a
folk tale that is very popular in Japan because this story reflects the
strength of determination, affection, friendship, and courage possessed by
Japanese society. At present the studies of literature in Indonesia, especially
the studies of Japanese literature is felt to be very lacking, especially for
high school students in Indonesia. Literature in Indonesia is only a point in
studying Indonesian while in Japanese language study, literature is less
discussed.
Based on the background of the problem, this
research developed an RPG game media for the introduction of Momotaro Japanese
folklore (も も た ろ う), which was tested on students of SMA 1
Krembung in order to find out the process of media development, media
feasibility, and student responses to media. The results of media development
are in the form of media RPG games that contain Momotaro Japanese folklore
using 2 languages such
as
Indonesian and Japanese so that in addition to knowing Momotaro as Japanese
folklore, students can learn about Japanese that has been embedded in the game.
The development research used was development
research belonging to Sugiyono (2013: 9) with research subjects in class XI MIPA
6 SMA Negeri 1
Krembung with a total of 13 students. The end result of this media is to
produce RPG games media
that
are worthy of being used for the introduction of Momotaro Japanese folklore.
This is based on the feasibility calculation of validation obtained according
to the table of interpretation of Likert scale scores (Riduwan, 2008: 87-89),
namely material expert validator at 90.83% with very good criteria and 75%
media expert validator with good score criteria, and student response to media
Momotaro RPG scores 98.16% with very good criteria.
