Peneliti menganalisis interpretasi Musik Jaman Barok pada lagu Prelude from Suite No.1 for Violoncello dilatar belakangi oleh kurangnya pemahaman banyak orang terutama para pemain dan mahasiswa musik tentang bagaimana penginterpretasian Musik Jaman Barok. Pemilihan lagu Prelude dari Suite No.1 karya Bach untuk penerapan interpretasi musik Jaman Barok dikarenakan lagu tersebut adalah lagu yang familiar di telinga banyak orang terutama pemain dan mahasiswa musik sehingga lebih mudah dipahami oleh para pembaca.

Dalam menganalisis Interpretasi Musik Jaman Barok pada karya Prelude from Suite No.1 for Violoncello Solo Karya J.S. Bach, dasar-dasar teori yang digunakan peneliti sebagai acuan penelitian di dalamnya yaitu analisis musik, struktur musik, bentuk musik suita, interpretasi, aturan-aturan interpretasi musik Jaman Barok, penelitian terdahulu yang relevan, dan diakhiri dengan kerangka berpikir.

Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif karena tidak menggunakan angka-angka sebagai sumber datanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis interpretasi musik Jaman Barok dari lagu Prelude from Suite No.1 for Violoncello Solo Karya J.S. Bach. Objek penelitian difokuskan pada interpretasi dari lagu tersebut. Hasil penelitiannya diperoleh dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penyimpulam. Adapun uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi data.

Prelude from Suite No.1 for Violoncello Solo karya J.S. Bach ini memiliki bentuk dual yang terdiri dari bagian satu dan bagian dua. Analisis dari interpretasinya dianalisis melalui metrik atau sukat, slur, detached notes, unequal notes, dan dinamika. Dengan metrik C atau 4/4 maka Prelude dimainkan dengan tempo yang lambat mulai dari adagio hingga allegro. Terdapat slur yang beragam yang akhirnya memengaruhi interpretasi dari lagu ini yang menonjolkan pedal pointnya. Detached notes juga banyak muncul seperti ciri khas dari lagu Jaman Barok. Unequal notes dan diamika juga saling memengaruhi bagaimana seseorang memainkan lagu tersebut. Melalui beberapa aspek tersebut akhirnya dihasilkan bagaimana cara memainkan lagu Prelude dengan interpretasi musik Jaman Barok yang baik dan benar.

The researcher analyzed the interpretation of Baroque Music on the Prelude from Suite No.1 for Violoncello against the background of a lack of understanding by many people, especially the players and music students about how to interpret Baroque Music. The selection of Prelude from Bach's Suite No.1 works to apply the interpretation of Baroque music is because the song is familiar to many people, especially music players and students, making it easier for readers to understand.

In analyzing Baroque Interpretation of Music in the work of Prelude from Suite No.1 for Violoncello Solo by J.S. Bach, the basics of the theory used by researchers as a reference for research, namely music analysis, musical structure, suita music form, interpretation, rules of interpretation of Baroque music, relevant previous research, and ending with a frame of mind.

The method used in this study is a qualitative research method because it does not use numbers as the data source. This research aims to analyze the interpretation of Baroque music from the Prelude from Suite No.1 for Violoncello Solo by J.S. Bach. The object of the research focused on the interpretation of the song. The results of his research were obtained by observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and storage. The data validity test uses data triangulation.

Prelude from Suite No.1 for Violoncello Solo by J.S. Bach has a dual form which consists of parts one and part two. The analysis of its interpretations is analyzed through metrics, slur, detached notes, unequal notes, and dynamics.
