Latar belakang dalam penelitian ini adalah belum adanya pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar yang dikaitkan dengan sains di masyarakat. Serta minimnya media pembelajaran IPA berbasis etnosains menjadi kendala utama. Kendala lain yaitu guru merasa kesulitan melatih kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik. Tujuan dari penelitian yaitu menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan kevalidan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan pengembangan media big book dalam perspektif etnosains untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif di sekolah dasar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah R&D (Research and development) yang menghasilkan suatu produk berupa media big book dalam perspektif etnosains. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Instrument dalam penelitian ini berupa lembar angket validasi, lembar observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan tes. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan big book dalam perspektif etnosains dinyatakan valid berdasarkan pemerolehan total skor 92,31 dengan kategori sangat valid. Reliabilitas memperoleh skor 0,764 dengan interpretasi kategori tinggi. Validasi materi total skor 92,0 kategori sangat valid. Reliabilitas 0,749 kategori tinggi. Sedangkan validasi instrumen soal masing-masing memperoleh skor 92,0 dengan reliabilitas 0,770 dan hasil kedua skor 92,5 dengan reliabilitas 0,779 terakhir skor 93,5 dan reliabilitas 0,802. Sedangkan kepraktisan ditinjau dari respon peserta didik, guru dan aktivitas guru tergolong kategori sangat baik (sangat praktis). Untuk keefektifan berdasarkan N-Gain pada kelas eksperimen diperoleh nilai mean sebesar 71.9126 masuk dalam kategori “cukup efektif” sedangkan di kelas kontrol diperoleh nilai mean sebesar 45.3726 dalam kategori “kurang efektif”.

The background in this research is that there is no science learning in elementary schools that is associated with science in the community. The lack of ethnoscience-based science learning media is the main obstacle. Another obstacle is that teachers find it difficult to train students' creative thinking skills. The purpose of the research is to analyze and describe the validity, practicality and effectiveness of the development of big book media in an ethnoscience perspective to improve the creative thinking skills of elementary school students. This type of research is R&D (Research and development) which produces a product in the form of big book media from an ethnoscience perspective. The design used in this research is ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Instruments in this study were in the form of validation questionnaires, observation sheets, interviews, documentation and tests. The analytical technique used is quantitative qualitative analysis and reliability analysis.
Based on the results of the study, it showed that the development of the big book in the ethnoscience perspective was declared valid based on the acquisition of a total score of 92.31 with a very valid category. Reliability got a score of 0.764 with a high category interpretation. Material validation total score 92.0 very valid category. Reliability 0.749 high category. While the instrument validation questions each obtained a score of 92.0 with a reliability of 0.770 and the second result a score of 92.5 with a reliability of 0.779, the last score of 93.5 with a reliability of 0.802. Meanwhile, the practicality obtained in terms of the responses of students, teachers and teacher activities is classified as very good category (very practical). Based on the N-Gain in the experimental class, the mean value of 71.9126 was found in the "fairly effective" category, while in the control class, the mean value was 45.3726 in the "less effective" category.
