Mount
Kelud is an active volcano in East Java. Kebonrejo Village, Kepung Subdistrict,
Kediri Regency is one of the villages in an area prone to being affected by the
eruption of Mount Kelud, because in addition to its geographical conditions
which are within a radius of 5 km and is one of the disaster buffer villages in
the Mount Kelud Disaster Prone Areas (DPA)II so, preparedness deemed necessary
to reduce the risk of disasters that occur. The purpose of this study: 1.
determine the level of community preparedness in dealing with the eruption of
Mount Kelud.2. know the community's efforts in emergency response when the
Mount Kelud eruption occurs, 3. Early warning systems implemented by the
community in dealing with the Mount Kelud eruption disaster.
This
research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection
techniques in this study were conducted using a questionnaire and documentation
study. While the determination of respondents using random sampling techniques
with the number of respondents 100 respondents, namely people who live in the
Village Kebonrejo. Community preparedness in measuring its level, then there
are five parameters used, namely knowledge of disaster risk, policies,
emergency response plans, early warning systems, and resource mobilization
systems. Then measure the level using the rating scale. With so many classes
divided into 4 namely very low, low, high, and very high.
The
results showed that 1. community preparedness was in the high category, but in
several aspects it was in the low category, namely the emergency response plan
and early warning system aspects, 2. The aspects of the community emergency
response plan for the absence of evacuation directions only relied on the experience
they usually did, 3. Early warning system aspects, only using traditional
methods such as speakers, and kentongan also less conditioned the community
during the eruption of Mount Kelud.
