THE INFLUENCE OF WORK ENGAGEMENT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT ON JOB PERFORMANCE THROUGH CREATIVITY AS A MEDIATING VARIABLE IN EMPLOYEES OF STATE-OWNED BANKS IN SURABAYA
Saat ini, persaingan global dan peningkatan produktivitas menjadi isu penting untuk dibahas jika ingin memperoleh keunggulan kompetitif dan bersaing dalam bisnis sejenis. Untuk memperoleh keunggulan kompetitif, peran sumber daya manusia sangat mempengaruhi hasil dan tujuan akhir yang harus dicapai perusahaan. Salah satu tujuan utama pengelolaan sumber daya manusia dalam bisnis adalah menciptakan kinerja karyawan yang tinggi.
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh work engagement dan work environment terhadap kinerja karyawan dengan creativity sebagai variabel intervening. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kausalitas dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampel jenuh jumlah 37 responden pada Karyawan Bank X di Kota Surabaya. Analisis statistik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah partial least square (PLS) dengan bantuan software SmartPLS 3.2.9.
Hasil dari penelitian ini work engagement tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Work environment tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Creativity memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Work engagement tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap creativity. Work environment memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap creativity. Creativity tidak memediasi pengaruh work engagement terhadap kinerja karyawan. Creativity tidak memediasi pengaruh work environment terhadap kinerja karyawan.
Currently, global competition and increasing productivity are important issues to discuss if you want to gain a competitive advantage and compete in similar businesses. To gain competitive advantage, the role of human resources greatly influences the results and final goals that the company must achieve. One of the main goals of human resource management in business is to create high employee performance.
The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of work engagement and work environment on employee performance with creativity as an intervening variable. This research is causality research with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total of 101 respondents among X Bank Employees in the City of Surabaya. The statistical analysis used in this research is partial least squares (PLS) with the help of SmartPLS 3.2.9 software.
The results of this study did not have a significant effect on employee performance. The work environment does not have a significant effect on employee performance. Creativity has a positive and significant influence on employee performance. Work engagement does not have a significant effect on creativity. Work environment has a positive and significant influence on creativity. Creativity does not mediate the influence of work engagement on employee performance. Creativity does not mediate the influence of the work environment on employee performance.
