Literasi membaca merupakan salah satu hal yang penting untuk peserta didik dalam memahami materi pembelajaran. Untuk meningkatkan literasi membaca dibutuhkan media ajar storybook yang mumpuni. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media ajar storybook guna untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca peserta didik kelas 3 sekolah dasar. Sampel pada penelitian ini yaitu peserta didik kelas 3 SD Negeri Bangsri 2 sejumlah 14 anak. Analisis data penelitian ini meliputi kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. Hasil yang kevalidan yang diperoleh dinyatakan valid dari validator I dan II ahli materi didapat 88,1% (baik) dan uji reliabilitas 0,987. Hasil validator I dan II ahli media sebesar 92% (sangat baik) dan uji reliabilitas 0,909. Kepraktisan media ajar storybook dari angket peserta didik 79,9% (aktif dalam isntruksional) dan angket guru 95,0% (dilakukan dengan sangat baik dan efektif). Hasil rekap respon peserta didik dan guru 81,4% (baik), untuk angket keterlaksanaan RPP sebesar 68,5% (cukup). Kefektifan berasal dari hasil pre-test dan post-test peserta didik di uji coba skala kecil dan uji coba skala besar. Hasil pre-test uji skala kecil 38,8% (cukup) dan post-test 73,3% (baik). Uji normalitas pre-test uji skala kecil 0,231 dinyatakan normal. Uji normalitas post-test uji coba skala kecil 0,310 dinyatakan normal. Uji homogenitas uji coba skala kecil 0,069 dinyatakan homogen dengan hasil uji paired sampel T 0,008 terdapat perbedaan signifikan. Hasil pre-test uji skala besar 92,9 (belum tuntas) karena dibawah nilai KKM dan 7,1% dinyatakan tuntas. Hasil post-test 7,1% (belum tuntas) dan 92,9% (tuntas). Uji normalitas pre-test untuk uji coba skala besar 0,20 tersebar normal. Uji normalitas post-test uji coba skala besar 0,356 sehingga tersebar normal. Hasil homogenitas dinyatakan homogen dengan nilai signifikan 0,014 dan uji sampel paired T 0,000 dinyatakan tidak ada perbedaan antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa pengembangan media ajar storybook dinyatakan valid, praktis, dan efektif sehingga layak untuk meningkatkan literasi membaca peserta didik kelas 3 sekolah dasar.

Reading literacy is essential for students to fully understand educational materials. A proficient storybook teaching media is necessary to improve reading literacy. This research aims to develop a storybook teaching tool that can effectively improve the reading skills of third-grade students in elementary school. The subjects were 14 students from the third-grade class from State Elementary School 2 Bangsri. The data analysis used were validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The validity results were valid from validators I and II material experts with score of 88.1% (good) and a reliability test of 0.987. The results of validators I and II of media experts were 92% (very good) and the reliability test was 0.909. Feasibility of storybook teaching media from a 79.9% students’ questionnaire (active in Instructional) and a 95.0% teacher questionnaire (well and effectively conducted). The combined score from students and teachers was 81.4% (good), whereas the questionnaire on lesson plan implementation was 68.5%. The effectiveness was determined using small-scale and large-scale pre-test and post-test results. The small-scale pre-test was 38.8% (enough), while the post-test was 73.3% (good). Normality tests for both the small-scale pre-test (0.231) and post-test (0.310) showed a normal distribution. The small-scale experiment's homogeneity test (0.069) showed homogeneity, whereas the paired sample T-test (0.008) showed a significant difference. The large-scale pre-test had 92.9% incompletes (below the minimal passing grade), with only 7.1% passing. In comparison, the post-test results were 7.1% incomplete and showed a significant improvement, with 92.9% passing. The large-scale experiment pre-test normality test was 0.20, showing normal distribution. In the large-scale experiment, the post-test normality test was 0.356, confirming normal distribution. The homogeneity test showed homogeneity with a significant value of 0.014, and the paired sample T-test with a value of 0.000 indicated no significant difference between before and after the treatment. In conclusion, the research found the storybook teaching media is valid, practical, and effective reading literacy in third-grade elementary school students.
