RAGAM HIAS SURABAYA PADA GANTUNGAN KUNCI BERBAHAN LOGAM DAN RESIN UNTUK SISWA KELAS XI SMA SHAFTA SURABAYA
SURABAYA ORNAMENTAL DESIGNS ON METAL AND RESIN KEYCHAINS FOR 11TH GRADE STUDENTS OF SHAFTA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL SURABAYA
Surabaya memiliki beragam motif ragam hias yang dapat diaplikasikan pada produk kerajinan misalnya gantungan kunci. Penggunaan motif khas Surabaya dapat menjadi media untuk memperkenalkan budaya lokal terutama di lingkungan sekolah. Kurang beragamnya media berkarya di SMA SHAFTA Surabaya menjadi alasan peneliti ingin memperkenalkan media baru kepada siswa. Kebaruan penelitian terletak pada penggunaan media berupa logam aluminium dan resin.
Tujuan dari penelelitian ini yaitu (1) mendeskripsikan proses berkarya ragam hias Surabaya pada gantungan kunci berbahan logam dan resin untuk siswa kelas XI SMA SHAFTA Surabaya; (2) mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan hasil karya ragam hias Surabaya pada gantungan kunci berbahan logam dan resin untuk siswa kelas XI SMA SHAFTA Surabaya; (3) mendeskripsikan tanggapan guru dan siswa dalam berkarya ragam hias Surabaya pada gantungan kunci berbahan logam dan resin untuk siswa kelas XI SMA SHAFTA Surabaya.
Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif-deskriptif, yang melibatkan siswa kelas XI SMA SHAFTA Surabaya. Data primer dalam penelitian didapatkan dari hasil karya ragam hias Surabaya pada gantungan kunci logam aluminium dan resin serta hasil kuesioner siswa kelas XI SMA SHAFTA Surabaya. Sumber data sekunder didapat melalui wawancara guru seni budaya dan 10 siswa mengenai pembelajaran seni budaya di SMA SHAFTA Surabaya. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi, dan pengisian kuesioner dengan triangulasi sebagai teknik validasi data.
Peneliti menyiapkan modul ajar, media pembelajaran, contoh karya, serta alat dan bahan. Penelitian dilaksanakan sebanyak lima kali pertemuan. Pada pertemuan pertama yaitu pengisian kuesioner, pemaparan materi dan membuat konsep desain ragam hias Surabaya. Pertemuan kedua pemindahan desain motif ragam hias Surabaya ke plat logam aluminium dengan cara teknik tekan. Pada pertemuan ketiga menempelkan plat logam aluminium menjadi tampak 2 sisi dengan cara dilem, kemudian dilanjutkan tahap pewarnaan motif ragam hias Surabaya pada plat logam aluminium. Pertemuan keempat yaitu proses penggabungan logam aluminium dengan resin. Pada pertemuan kelima tahap finishing, pemasangan rantai kuku biji lada dan di akhir pertemuan peneliti melakukan evaluasi serta refleksi berupa pengisian lembar kuesioner. Sebanyak 20 siswa masing-masing membuat dua buah gantungan kunci, sehingga total gantungan kunci berjumlah 40 buah. Hasil karya terdiri dari 4 gantungan kunci dengan kategori sangat baik (90–100) oleh 3 siswa, 34 karya dengan kategori baik (80–89) oleh 19 siswa, dan 3 karya dengan kategori cukup baik (56–79) oleh 3 siswa. Penelitian ini mendapat respons positif baik dari guru Seni Budaya maupun siswa karena memberikan pengalaman dan wawasan baru serta mendorong kreativitas dalam berkarya seni menggunakan media baru.

Surabaya has a variety of decorative motifs that can be applied to craft products, such as key chains. The use of typical Surabaya motifs can be a medium to introduce local culture, especially in the school environment. The lack of diversity of creative media at SMA SHAFTA Surabaya is the reason researchers want to introduce new media to students. The novelty of the research lies in the use of media in the form of aluminum metal and resin.
The objectives of this study are (1) to describe the process of creating Surabaya decorative motifs on metal and resin key chains for class XI students of SMA SHAFTA Surabaya; (2) to find out and describe the results of Surabaya decorative motif works on metal and resin key chains for class XI students of SMA SHAFTA Surabaya; (3) to describe the responses of teachers and students in creating Surabaya decorative motifs on metal and resin key chains for class XI students of SMA SHAFTA Surabaya.
The study used a qualitative-descriptive method, involving class XI students of SMA SHAFTA Surabaya. Primary data in the study were obtained from the results of Surabaya decorative motif works on aluminum metal and resin key chains and the results of questionnaires from class XI students of SMA SHAFTA Surabaya. Secondary data sources were obtained through interviews with art and culture teachers and 10 students regarding art and culture learning at SMA SHAFTA Surabaya. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observations, documentation, and filling out questionnaires with triangulation as a data validation technique.
The researcher prepared teaching modules, learning media, examples of works, and tools and materials. The research was conducted in five meetings. The first meeting was filling out the questionnaire, presenting the material and creating the Surabaya decorative motif design concept. The second meeting was transferring the Surabaya decorative motif design to an aluminum metal plate using a pressing technique. The third meeting was attaching the aluminum metal plate so that it appeared 2 sides by gluing it, then continued with the coloring stage of the Surabaya decorative motif on the aluminum metal plate. The fourth meeting was the process of combining aluminum metal with resin. At the fifth meeting, the finishing stage, installation of the peppercorn nail chain and at the end of the meeting the researcher conducted an evaluation and reflection in the form of filling out a questionnaire sheet. A total of 20 students each made two key chains, so that the total number of key chains was 40. The results of the work consist of 4 key chains with a very good category (90–100) by 3 students, 34 works with a good category (80–89) by 19 students, and 3 works with a fairly good category (56–79) by 3 students. This research received a positive response from both Art and Culture teachers and students because it provided new experiences and insights and encouraged creativity in creating art using new media.
