REPRESENTASI TANDA GANGGUAN KESEHATAN MENTAL DALAM FILM KEMBANG API KAJIAN SEMIOTIKA

REPRESENTATION OF SIGNS OF HEALTH DISORDERS IN THE FILM KEMBANG API SEMIOTIC STUDY

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menemukan makna denotasi, konotasi, mitos dan representasi tanda gangguan kesehatan mental dalam film “Kembang Api”. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori semiotika Roland Barthes. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian ditemukan 15 data potongan adegan yang dikaji (1) makna denotasi menunjukkan ekspresi wajah, gestur tokoh, dan suasana atau latar yang cenderung tegang, (2) makna konotasi seperti kalimat “sampai ketemu di akhirat” menunjukkan akhirat sebagai masa depan yang lebih baik, (3) mitos muncul seperti anak-anak dan remaja yang dianggap tidak akan memiliki beban masalah yang berat, dan (4) representasi tanda gangguan kesehatan mental seperti stres, cemas, serangan kepanikan, dan gangguan pasca trauma.

The purpose of this study is to find the meaning of denotation, connotation, myth and representation of signs of mental health disorders in the film "Kembang Api". This study uses Roland Barthes' semiotic theory. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach. The results of the study found 15 data pieces of scenes studied (1) denotation meaning shows facial expressions, character gestures, and atmosphere or background that tend to be tense, (2) connotation meaning such as the sentence "see you in the afterlife" shows the afterlife as a better future, (3) myths appear such as children and teenagers who are considered not to have a heavy burden of problems, and (4) representation of signs of mental health disorders such as stress, anxiety, panic attacks, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
