Implementation of the Guided Inquiry Learning Model to Enhance Critical Thinking Skills of Students on Ecology Material
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterlak-sanaan pembelajaran, keterampilan berpikir kritis, dan respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing pada materi ekologi. Desain penelitian ini yaitu pre-eksperimental dengan rancangan one group pretest-posttest. Sampel berjumlah 35 siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 14 Surabaya. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar pengamatan keterlaksanaan, soal pilihan ganda beralasan, dan lembar angket respon. Hasil keterlaksanaan pembelajaran memperoleh modus sebesar 4 berkategori sangat baik. Setelah penerapan model ini, rata-rata nilai posttest meningkat dari yang sebelumnya berkategori sangat kurang kiritis menjadi kritis yaitu dengan nilai sebesar 68,07. Skor N-Gain keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik yaitu sebesar 0,5 dengan kategori sedang. Pembelajaran ini menghasilkan repon positif peserta didik dengan perolehan persentase sebesar 95,45% berkategori sangat baik. Penelitian ini dapat dsimpulkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik.

This research aims to describe the implementation of learning, the critical thinking skills of students, and the students' responses to guided inquiry learning on ecology material. This type of research uses a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 35 seventh-grade students from SMP Negeri 14 Surabaya. The instruments used to obtain data were the learning implementation observation sheet, multiple-choice questions with reasons, and response questionnaires. The results of the learning implementation showed a mode score of 4, categorized as very good. After the implementation of the guided inquiry model, the average posttest score increased from the category of very poor critical thinking to critical thinking, with an average score of 68.07. The N-Gain score for the improvement of students' critical thinking skills was 0.5, categorized as moderate. Learning with the guided inquiry model on ecology material had a very good impact on the students' responses, with a percentage of 95.45%, categorized as very good. This study concludes that the application of the guided inquiry learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills
