PENERAPAN PEMBELAJARAN TALENAN KAYU
SEBAGAI MEDIA BERKARYA BATIK TULIS

APPLICATION OF WOODEN PLATE LAERNING AS A MEDIUM FOR CREATING HAND WRITTEN BATIK BY CLASS X GRADE STUDENTS OF SMAN 2 SIDOARJO
Pembelajaran batik menggunakan media talenan kayu di SMAN 2 Sidoarjo bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman nilai sosial dan budaya serta melestarikan warisan leluhur. Sebelumnya, media yang digunakan sulit, untuk meningkatkan minat belajar, peserta didik diarahkan berkarya dengan media talenan kayu motif udang dan bandeng, ikon khas Sidoarjo. Dengan fasilitas memadai, diharapkan pembelajaran batik dapat memperkenalkan seni batik Sidoarjo dan meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran seni rupa di sekolah.
Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui: Proses persiapan, proses pembelajaran, hasil pembelajaran, tanggapan guru dan peserta didik SMAN 2 Sidoarjo setelah kegiatan pembelajaran talenan kayu sebagai media berkarya batik tulis.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan proses persiapan, proses pembelajaran, hasil pembelajaran, serta hasil tanggapan guru dan peserta didik setelah kegiatan pembelajaran talenan kayu sebagai media berkarya batik tulis. Validitas data dihasilkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, hasil karya, dan angket.
Pelaksanaan kegiatan penelitian dilaksanakan dalam delapan kali pertemuan di kelas X–3. Pertemuan pertama persiapan modul ajar, LKPD, alat dan bahan, pemaparan materi batik talenan kayu, memperlihatkan contoh karya fisik pada peserta didik, pembagian kelompok, serta mengarahkan membuat sketsa. Pertemuan kedua, konsultasi sketsa motif dan pemindahan sketsa pada talenan kayu. Pertemuan ketiga, penjelasan struktur canting, mendemonstrasikan mencanting yang benar. Pertemuan keempat, setiap kelompok melanjutkan mencanting. Pertemuan kelima, mengoreksi hasil cantingan setiap kelompok. Pertemuan keenam, siswa mewarnai talenan kayu, dilanjut fiksasi warna. Pertemuan ketujuh, pembilasan media, mencanting beberapa bagian motif utama dan isen, pewarnaan hitam dan fiksasi warna hitam. Pertemuan kedelapan, proses nglorod talenan kayu, peserta didik mengisi angket, diakhiri foto bersama dan melakukan wawancara kepada guru seni budaya kelas X–3 mengenai tanggapan dan hasil karya batik tulis talenan kayu.
Hasil karya batik talenan kayu sebanyak 15 buah berukuran 19 cm x 30 cm, terdiri dari 13 karya masuk kategori sangat baik dan 3 karya terkategori baik. Terdapat tiga belas kelompok memperoleh nilai sangat baik dengan rentang nilai 91-100 dan tiga kelompok memperoleh nilai kategori baik kisaran nilai 81-90. Menunjukkan peserta didik dapat mengasah kemampuan kreatif dilihat karya tergolong sangat baik dan baik. Kegiatan ini mendapatkan tanggapan sangat baik oleh guru seni budaya dan seluruh siswa kelas X-3 SMA Negeri 2 Sidoarjo sepenuhnya mendukung dan antusias dari awal sampai akhir.

Batik learning using wooden cutting boards at SMAN 2 Sidoarjo aims to enhance understanding of social and cultural values as well as preserve ancestral heritage. Previously, the media used was difficult; to increase interest in learning, students were directed to create works using wooden cutting boards with shrimp and milkfish motifs, which are iconic to Sidoarjo. With adequate facilities, it is hoped that batik learning can introduce the art of Sidoarjo batik and improve the quality of fine arts education in schools.
The purpose of this research is to understand: the preparation process, the learning process, the learning outcomes, and the responses of teachers and students at SMAN 2 Sidoarjo after the wooden cutting board learning activity as a medium for creating batik.
This research uses a qualitative descriptive method to describe the preparation process, learning process, learning outcomes, and the responses of teachers and students after the wooden cutting board learning activity as a medium for creating batik. Data validity is obtained through observation, interviews, documentation, work results, and questionnaires.
The implementation of the research activities was conducted in eight meetings in class X–3. The first meeting involved the preparation of teaching modules, LKPD, tools and materials, presentation of wooden cutting board batik material, showing physical work examples to students, group division, and guiding them to create sketches. The second meeting, consultation on motif sketches and transferring sketches onto wooden cutting boards. Third meeting, explanation of the canting structure, demonstrating the correct canting technique. Fourth meeting, each group continues with the canting. Fifth meeting, correcting the results of each group's canting. Sixth meeting, students color the wooden boards, followed by color fixation. Seventh meeting, rinsing the media, canting some parts of the main motif and isen, black coloring, and fixing the black color. The eighth meeting, the process of nglorod wooden batik boards, students filled out a questionnaire, ended with a group photo, and conducted an interview with the art and culture teacher of class X-3 regarding the feedback and results of the wooden batik writing.
The wooden cutting board batik artworks, totaling 15 pieces measuring 19 cm x 30 cm, consist of 13 pieces categorized as very good and 3 pieces categorized as good. There are thirteen groups that received very good scores with a range of 91-100 and three groups that received good scores with a range of 81-90. It shows that students can hone their creative abilities, as seen in works categorized as very good and good. This activity received very positive feedback from the cultural arts teacher, and all the students of class X-3 at SMA Negeri 2 Sidoarjo fully supported and were enthusiastic from start to finish.
