Faktor Yang Memengaruhi Financial Management Behavior Generasi Millenial Di Kota Surabaya Dengan Financial Literacy Sebagai Variabel Mediasi

Factors Affecting the Financial Management Behavior of Millenial Generation in the City of Surabaya with Financial Literacy as a Mediation Variable 

Generasi millenial memiliki tingkat konsumtif tinggi ditunjukan hasil survei IDN Research Institute dimana pengeluaran konsumsi mencapai 80,5%. Kenaikan rata-rata tabungan penduduk Surabaya sebesar 5,5%, terendah dibandingkan kota dengan PDRB dibawahnya. Literasi keuangan Jawa Timur di dominasi kota Surabaya dengan 45,9%. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji pengaruh variabel independen terhadap financial management behavior dengan financial literacy sebagai variabel mediasi. Populasi penelitian ini adalah generasi millenial usia 20-39 tahun di Kota Surabaya dengan sampel sejumlah 269 responden. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis jalur dengan hasil locus of control, financial attitude, financial socialization agent dan personality traits tidak berpengaruh pada financial management behavior. Financial knowledge berpengaruh terhadap financial management behavior karena responden masih berada tingkat pengetahuan lebih tinggi sehingga cenderung waspada dengan masa depan keuangan mereka. Financial literacy berpengaruh literasi keuangan responden kategori baik berimplikasi proses kognitif yang mendorong dalam mengambil keputusan keuangan bukan pada tingkat pengetahuan saja. Financial socialization agent tidak berpengaruh terhadap financial literacy, financial attitude berpengaruh karena sikap responden terhadap uang mendorong pencarian pengetahuan keuangan sebagai cara meningkatkan pengelolaan keuangan yang baik. Financial literacy tidak memediasi financial socialization agent pada financial management behavior namun mampu memediasi financial attitude karena literasi keuangan yang dimiliki akan mendukung pandangan positif terhadap uang, sehingga cenderung melakukan pengambilan keputusan individu berdasarkan resiko keuangan keputusan tersebut

The millennial generation has a high consumptive rate shown by the IDN Research Institute survey results where consumption expenditure reaches 80.5%. The average increase in the savings of Surabaya residents was 5.5%, the lowest compared to cities with a lower GRDP. East Java's financial literacy is dominated by Surabaya with 45.9%. This study aims to examine the effect of independent variables on financial management behavior with financial literacy as a mediating variable. The population of this study is the millennial generation aged 20-39 years in the city of Surabaya with a sample of 269 respondents. The analysis technique used is path analysis with the results of the locus of control, financial attitude, financial socialization agent, and personality traits that don’t affect financial management behavior. Financial knowledge influences financial management behavior because respondents are still at a higher level of knowledge so they tend to be wary of their financial future. Financial literacy influences the respondent's financial literacy both categories imply cognitive processes that encourage financial decision making not just at the level of knowledge. Financial socialization agent doesn’t affect financial literacy, financial attitude influences because respondents' attitudes toward money encourage the search for financial knowledge as a way to improve good financial management. Financial literacy doesn’t mediate financial socialization agents in financial management behavior but can mediate financial attitude because financial literacy that is owned will support a positive view of money, so it tends to make individual decisions based on the financial risk of the decision
